What would be some of the most economical and low-skill options for ships that can kill a BC or battleship rat solo? I tried with a frigate in deadend lowsec, but just couldn't outrun its repair. Right now, low skill and flying Amarr hulls.

Shield nano Omen? Good dps, speed tank with a light shield buffer. Maybe a Coercer?

I wear my goggles at night.

Well I would recommend an Ishkur (Gallente T2 Frigate, Assault Ship), but obviously you cannot fly it.
It stands out because it can fit +1 Drone per Skill Level. So 5 Drones at Assault Ship 5.
It can kill a NPC BC quite easy. BS works, but depends on the enemy and is quite ammo intensive.
Did it myself in zerosec. But before the AI revamp.
In PvP up to Cruisers if the other pilot is not that experienced.

If you look for a lot of bang for your buck, it might be worth learning towards it. Learning Gallente Frigate 5, Small Hybrid and Blaster Specilization does not take that long.

I think even for its 22 Million the Ishkur is still very ecnomical since it is a damn fine ship.

Hope it helps you.

I thought that the AS skill bonus was an increase to drone bay capacity not the amount of drones you can control?.?.?

I use frigate (rifter), but I do have very good skills. For low skills, try t1 cruiser.

Destroyer is also an option.

you havent described what your skillset is so its hard to recommend a ship

Ishkur bonus is to dronebay and not drone control. so its 5 light drones (25 bandwith) no matter what your skill level. its jsut what options you can have in the drone bay that changes, and with the new salvage drones it frees up a hi slot with no drawbacks (cept maybe access level on t2/t3 wrecks? havent tried them yet)

for lowsec battleship/bc npc ships, you want something with either good rep or good speed, DPS for a low skilled pilot is harder to maintain when focusing on your own reps. (this is specific to amarr because of cap issues)

Try a harbinger if you can fly it, or a gank omen, fit the biggest pulses you can with multi and two or three heatsinks, with a plate and a small rep. Try to gank your way through or warp out when you are lo in armor. remember to keep your options open by killing anything that could scram you first.

also most enemy ships will stop repping after 45 minutes of reps, they dont cap out, but they seem to get distracted. i remember once killing an overseer (4/10) with about 120 dps after an hour. that was one of the most boring hours ive ever spent in a game. but it can be done.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

A thrasher will work fine, as will a coercer or catalyst (though you might have trouble with certain rats).

Rupture option - cheap pve but with a bit of pvp defence in mind, currently trialling this in null (Serpentis Rats)

Highs - 4 x 425mm autocannons
- Energy neutraliser

Mids - 10mn afterburner
- 2 x large shield extenders
- Adaptive invulnerability hardner

Lows - 2 x gyrostabilisers
- Tracking enhancer
- power diagnostic unit
- damage control

Rigs - 2 x thermal resists
- 1 x Medium Projectile Collision Accelerator I

Drones - choice between extra dps - 6 x Hobgoblins
- or pvp defence - 6 x ecm drones, Hornet EC-300

Works well in belts, not so good in anomalies fitted like this, depends what you are after. Haven't met anything bigger than 1.2 mill bounty BS yet, but it can tank 3 of these plus the associated cruisers and frigs. So, this works, but could probably do with further tweaks. The shield tank barely gets scratched in belts, so perhaps it could be further dps enhanced or pvp defence-oriented

Sorry, missed that you fly Amarr Sad

for cheap ratter i used a corrcer
highs
x8 dual pulse lasers
mid
afterburn
cap recharger
lows
small armor repair
x2heatsinks

for ammo radio to kil frigs multifrq for anything biger orbit at around 1000m with afterburn on to migate most of the damage also with thi sship you never need to go get more ammo uness you are using tech2 or faction

this is best used against sasha, drones, and blood,

choose your own rigs alot of peope like rigs that affect cap.
