don't blame u.. i only heard of mass effect when the trainer for ME2 came into light, so i bought ME1 on steam for a discount, ripped it up and got ME2 which i played several times through and the same for ME3.. was very very good! the ended sucked balls, but they fixed it! so all good :-)

Mass Effect... How I love that trilogy...

Bought ME1 shortly after it was ported to PC and was hooked right away. Almost embarrassed that I immediately bought every game, every piece of DLC they released after that...

WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW

I love my acts-like-a-Paragon-but-talks-like-a-Renegade femshep. ME3 was... an interesting experience... knew right from the intro that this wouldn't end well for her, but it was good. Indoctrination theory put some new twists on the ending, making the final choice a bit more difficult.

Still kind of miss the unlimited ammo with heat from the first game, and of course the Mako, driving that thing was awesome. ...but if I had to choose I'd have to pick ME3 as the best of the series.

Remember BioWare saying that ME3 was the end of Shepard's story, but not the end of Mass Effect. I must admit I'm torn on that one. ME was very much Shepard's story, and it'd feel wrong to continue it from someone else's perspective.

If memory serves, a while ago there was a thread about which sci-fi universe you'd rather live in. I don't even think I have to say what I'd choose...

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

If you like story and choices that matter try Planescape: Torment (imo the best RPG ever, period), followed by Baldurs Gate 1 & 2.
If you are more into SciFi, I suggest Kotor 1 & 2 (though in truth it´s really just lightsabers instead of swords and the Force instead of magic)

Finally, especially for choices that matter, try The Witcher series.

****... Apologies :(

Good thing I didn't go into specifics, but I guess I still should have included a warning. Again, sorry.

Haven't played MGS, but I agree on the cinematic part. Rest assured, though they've changed style somewhat after ME1 (as you've no doubt noticed already) you won't be disappointed. Bit less space opera and more grit.

People sometimes ask why a guy would play femshep, I say "why not"? I like the voice (Jennifer Hale <3), and besides, that whole cinematic thing means that I never really think that I'm Shepard, it's more like a movie that plays out how I want it to.

Also, you're spending an awful lot of time looking at Shepard's face and backside, and she's prettier.

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

Miranda... Never liked her, in no small part due to the fact they based the face on that of the voice actress. Too uncanny valley for me, and the rest of her looks equally wrong. Genetically perfect, my arse.
