Proteus, Loki camp on gate, instalock - what possible fit allowed this ?

Hi,

I was on my main shot on gate in LS.
I flied Buzzard with Covert Cloak and 2 Nano.
Hit warp, hit cloak but regardless that it was extremally quick I was locked by one guy and his alt.

Here comes a question - what fit is necessary on both Proteus and Loki to allow such instalock.

Another question - what can I do to avoid such camp when other route is not available.

Cheers,

Sebo the ships the high hell and anything can instalock

I wear my goggles at night.

Any spelling/grammatical errors come complimentary with my typing on a phone

One or two (local) seebos, 2+ remote seebos, and possibly some targeting rigs.

That being said, you should still be able to cloak in time. I recommend the use of hotkeys rather than moving the mouse to click.

I fitted in EveHQ a Loki with 4 Federation Navy SEBO, added remote effect from 3x Remote Sensor Booster II (scripted).
Sensor resolution 2190, time to lock on my Buzzard 0.8 second - it's almost instalock but still I should have time for cloak on my Buzzard. For calculation used an artificial char with "All 5" skills.

I didn't modelled a Proteus - it has worse scan resolution on all electronics subsystems so I certainly was locked by Proteus.

I was much quicker doing my actions than 0.8 seconds. So how it is possible ?

Edit: I used hotkeys not mouse clicks. After sending to warp I spammed F1 (there was cloaking module) like crazy.

The server moves in 1 second ticks, so anything below that is essentially a dice roll (as far as I know, I'm not really certain on the mechanics below 1 second). By the time you factor in client side lag for both people, the 1 second tick, etc... who knows. You got the short end of the stick.

this pretty much. when you get down to timers like this it is a roll of the dice. most of the time factoring his reaction you will get away, but now and then the camper will be on the ball and you will have an unlucky server tick and get caught.

You have to be really unlucky for this to happen. Not only do you have to run into such a camp, but you need to fat-finger your cloak key or get an unfortunately server hiccup. I typically hit the cloak key about half a second after the first command, which usually ends up being before the server tells me the first align command was successful.
