You Can Put Cargo Containers In Corporate Hangar Arrays

Already filed a bug report about this, but I thought I'd post this here as a warning to other people, since this bug apparently makes it possible to permanently burn items and render them unrecoverable.

It is possible, using the unified inventory interface, to click-and-drag a jettisoned cargo container into a division of a corporate hangar array. This will place the cargo container inside the hangar. Cargo containers have a volume of 27,500 m3, meaning that very few ships can put them in their cargo bay. Since our current starbase doesn't have any ships that are capable of fitting that much in, we can't move them, and we aren't actually know what would happen if we tried.

Here are the reproduction steps.

Confirming that this is doable. Also confirming that the cargo container CAN be removed from the CHA by a large enough hauler (IttyV or any DST, we used a corpm8's Bustard to test) and then deposited in a station hangar (it can even be contracted!). I have yet to test:

  • Whether they can be placed in courier contracts
  • Whether the container can be re-opened when in a station hangar
