Mission question

Hi all.

I have been playing EVE for about 2 years but when I started on my main, I jumped right into low sec and PvP without trying any missions. This alt, was my industrial/hauler toon and a while back i started training him in some combat skills. I fitted him out in a Talwar just for fun and then did a few missions. Surprisingly enough, I am enjoying the missions, but have no clue how they work. Right now I am doing Level 1 security in my destroyer. How quickly do you move up to level II's?

Also, how long can I use a destroyer, I quite enjoy it. Is there anyway you can just use a destroyer for missions or do you have to keep advancing your ship type (crusiers, bc's, bs's, etc.) along with the missions level?

Thanks for any info!

Level 1 frig / dessie
Level 2 dessie / cruiser
Level 3 Battlecruiser
Level 4 Battleship

Unless you have "perfect" skills and know the missions that is probably the route you want to take, keep in mind the the ship you fly is not better then the skills you have to support it.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

it's standings based
open the [Agent Finder] and start playing with filters for your preferred Faction/Corp
set which Security Areas your prepared to work in
and check/uncheck [show unnavailable] depending on when you want them to be visible

Social Skills can speed up the process
Social, Diplomacy & Connections all to L3 can be trained in a day(ish)

Agent Finder is kinda new, can be found (at the bottom) on the
NeoCom -> People & Places -> Agents
Dock -> Station Services -> Agents

also check www.eve-survival.org for mission intel, it's IGB compatable

A big part of mission rewards are the Loyalty Points you get, look through http://www.ellatha.com/eve/LP-Stores to see what items are available from the various corps.

Read up on standings relationships, you can make yourself unwelcome in empire space rather quickly if you aren't careful. The mission reports at eve survival linked above will also warn you about standings losses as well. This probably won't be an issue for you but since you said the character was an indy/hauler it's worth knowing about.

The Pirate Epic Arcs will let you put your pvp skills to use for some really nice rewards.

You don't have to advance up in ship class to do the higher level missions if you don't want to. With high skill level, piloting tactics and good equipment fitted, you can complete level 3 missions in a T1 Frigate. I know a couple players who do level 4 missions in Assault Frigates. It may take longer to complete the mission but it's also more challenging.
