Is it an exploit to spam a person who has just lost a ship with convo invitations in order to prevent them from warping out their pod (causing client-side lag)?

Leadership is something you learn. Maybe one day, you'll learn that.

Yes. Petition the terribads.

I think you should petition. But that's just me, not sure if others agree?

Yah I am pretty sure that convo spamming is considered to be an exploit, and that CCP has already said as much in several forum posts... just can't find them atm.

Signatures should be used responsibly...

What a horrible thought, trying to warp out only to have 8 convo requests block everything on your screen... Savages

Yes it is, but you can also increase you service fee to let another player converse with you to say 1,000,000,000 isk problem solved.

Or block unknown characters.

Mind you, I think the line is a bit blurry. A fleet of hundreds spamming some guy would lag him out. However one guy sending a request to pop up and distract the other player I would consider a different case.

A lot of success or failure in eve is down to how well you manage information and distraction.

tl:dr Attempting to adversely affect someones client is an exploit. Trying to distract them isn't.

Edit. it takes a lot of spammed convos to lag you out. A lot. One guy or even a small gang aren't going to pull it off. Maybe if your internet connection is weak, but then spammed convos aren't your only problem. You could be dead long before it registers on your client.

It used to be a lot worse. That pop-up would lock your UI preventing you from hitting warp. They changed it recently. It's not really an issue now in small fights.

I at least wait until their dead before I convo. If the convo is civil, I try to recruit. If it's Russian, I close it.

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!
