Planing to seed small pos/tower up in minmatar space and i am intrigued as to how far or close to moon one can anchor POS,what is maximum and min range?

From what i can tell looking the moons they are more or less close to warp in point.

Cheers.

It doesn't matter. Regardless of where it is anchored in space near a moon, a control tower will snap to a predetermined spot. Typically within 100 km of the warp-in, but it varies.

It can be helpful to anchor away (off-grid) from the warp-in, and let the tower snap to wherever it wants to. I've read that this is how one anchors on moons with stations, but I've not tested myself.

I've tried anchoring off-grid (like we used to be able to do years ago), and it just won't let you anymore. When you get too far away it just says that it has to be anchored in orbit. Tried the whole grid-fu thing, no go.
