I have been playing this game a long time, and I am kind of getting a bad feeling about these tier 3 Battlecruisers.

I am already thinking about how 1400mm Arty and Tachyon sniper battlecruisers will add epic lulz to my fleet roams. That being said, it feels like this is another random stupidly-epic-buff that could unbalanced the game something fierce.

Here is hoping I am wrong...
But CCP has a history of... well... Supercarrier god-ships and Nano'd "super-fast-can't-hit-me-worth-****" speed!
Then followed by game breaking nerfs.

I just has a bad feeling is all. Ugh

Well, think about hwat has to happen for BCs to field large weapons. They eithr have to have immense PG/CPU/cap (unlikely due to potential for abuse), or a reduction in large weapon fitting req's (more likely due to ability to focus the fitting).

Knowing that, we can further extrapolate that these ships will not be very good vs smaller ships since large weapons aren't so good vs smaller ships (tracking, etc). Furthermore, as a medium ship, they will not be able to stand toe-to-toe with BS due to lesser tank. However, they should be able to speed tank to a certain degree.

So what we are left with is a ship that is mobile and cause excellent damage to large ships, but cannot stand up to the damage of it's intended targets.

Sounds a lot like a stealth bomber, but for caps and no covert ops cloak. It has been posted in other threads (cba to post linkage) that this will replace the welpcane for anti-capital role; an opinion that I agree with, assuming their cost is comparable.

I don't think these new ships will break anything or unbalance the game. IMO, they seem rather narrow in scope.

good analysis.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

I to thought the Stealth bomber switch from cruise to torps was a game braking nerf also.

So when the though of a BC that follows the same line popped up.
I was like, yea paper canons, in a BC size.

For Empire/Low Sec sure.

But I am keen on nullsec PVP, and all we are going to see are Tornado fleets with God-Like Alpha in very short order IMO.

Hmmm, BC sized hull with poor tank.

Stealth bomber armed, ready and up for killing. They won't even have time to scream ;)
