Then people would just start complaining about capital proliferation. It wouldn't solve anything.

Bigger more awesome spaceships? Yes, please.

Maybe not in the way that you are saying, OP, but I do love spaceships...I don't know if I ever mentioned that, but...

...I love spaceships. :3

I'd still like to see an outpost that is a spherical "DeathStar" (TM) that folks will constantly mistake for a small moon...

But mostly, I'd like to see people just have to bring capital fleets to blow up an existing moon so they can float out their "DeathStar" and anchor it where the old, original moon used to be.

What the Hell. It's EVE... go big, or GTFO/HTFU. Blink

Besides putting cap fights back on the menu for regular 0.0 players, you know, those without billions and billions of ISK and supercap babysitter alts.

No, because normal caps have a number of weaknesses that make them reasonable and easy to balance in comparison.

A tec2 Titan that costs a trillion ISK- I'd like to be on that kill?

Titans are now very prolific- perhaps it is time to bring back the magic of a really elite capital that costs trillions and can only ever be owned by an Alliance as its upkeep would be huge. I was thinking more in line of a truly mobile station.

A dream or a future reality?

Quick edit- CCP can we have a proper carrier- how can a capital ship that can only carry 2 battleships be called a carrier- even a supercap can only carry 5-6 battleships.

I am just going to touch on your edit part. I can't think of a single carrier on this planet that can contain a battleship. Just saying...fighters are another issue. Personally I think a carrier should be able to field a hell of a lot more than 10-15 fighters/bombers. I think the only real solution to this is to make fighters look like squadrons of fighters instead of just a single fighter. With that, I think if a fighter group had say 5 fighters in it and the group took damage, then one fighter would be destroyed and the only way to fix that would be to recall the group and add another fighter to the group from another. Kind of like reloading a mag in an FPS game.

Yes, fighter is what 16 million? Making them into expensive ammo, like drones, sounds very appropriate.

I didn't say that. You read way too far into things. Ammo depletes as you use it. The fighters would just become one less fighter in a wing as they get destroyed and corresponding with that would have equally less damage output in the wing until it is brought back into the ship and merged with another wing. Pretty simple and straight forward concept. Not going to bother explaining it to you any further if you can't figure it out.

Yes, let's use the same strategy that failed in every way to limit supercap proliferation and apply it to something even worse.

Or better yet, let's not.

Can't wait to see the t2 titan blobs.

Next step, Supertitans. Basicly, a carrier holding squadrons of dreads.

Sounds more like an ubercarrier.

Unless you mean it also has a rack of Extra Extra Large turrets. A rack of doomsday devices.

Yes for turrets, no for doomsday devices as they magically can't shoot structures anymore.

Undoubtedly, before t2 capitals and supercapitals ever see the light of day, there will have to be a lot of rebalancing and tweaking to make the current system of capitals and supers a bit more balanced to prevent people from gaining a huge upper hand over the others. Supers were initially not supposed to arrive in such large quantities that they are in today, so there will have to be something like upkeep on them to balance them out and prevent the wonderous thing that is a super blob.

Though, yes, t2 capitals and supercapitals would be interesting. But at the very earliest, we'll not be seeing anything on it till tiercide for the upper parts of the t1 tree, the t2 tree, and multiple other balances, probably not even inside of three years or so.

Guess who would be gaining a huge upper hand. Definitely not the small guys. Heh. Unless they're part of a blue list that can get that kind of help.

We're back to the OP friends. Unless...

What if they wanted us to play in large teams? I think it's worth investigating.

No, we're supposed to rely on CONCORD and NPC corps. Friends are so powerful, they can kill EVE.
