Hi folks welcome to EVE. I hope you are enjoying yourselves. I am trying to find out what attracts people to EVE. If you wouldn't mind please fill out this survey for me:

but they limit the quality of the answer. if he's genuinely interested and isn't under a time constraint, this is certainly the way to go.

Yes I intend to go through all responses by hand and classify them based on the response. I feel it will give a more meaningful interpretation versus a quicker more restricted multiple choice option.

Don't rumor monger, it's against the rules. If you feel that there may be an instance of Developer bias, please feel free to email internalaffairs@ccpgames.com.

Also, sorry to burst your bubble, but I've never been a goon and never will be. Playing in nullsec doesn't interest me, personally.

Still wonder why in the past (also by you CCP Falcon) cross posts from other forum parts were locked cause it was against forum rules as they didn't contribute to the forum or were in violation to forum conduct.

To answer both of you asking about the single comment box. I am using a single comment box because it allows me to get as much information as I possibly can. Once I have all of this information I can deduce categories based on the responses. The raw data, the statistics and my interpretations of the data will be made public once I have finished the analysis. The data is being used to answer a question asked I would like to know why people decide to pick up EVE. I hope this helps if not please ask me direct questions and I'll answer them as best I canBig smile.

Well, here's the thing though. The data you're asking for isn't statistical nor is it measurable, as you said in a previous post. "A lot" of data isn't as good as "the right kind of data" which, heck, I could probably think of 10 decent questions in a few minutes. You're letting the respondents drive the data instead of the other way around, and that's a bad way to make any kind of survey.

And I'm not saying you're doing anything, but SurveyMonkey does give survey makers the option to record IP addresses. So, again, I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, I'm just saying it looks weird, especially when a response in a forum thread would work exactly the way the external link is supposed to work.

You are incorrect it is nominal data it can and will be measured in a meaningful way. The IP address is the reason I did not ask for character names I have no way of telling who is what all those addresses will be used for is to flag duplicate responses.
