So, when they took out the learning skills...

Now they just need to remove the learning implants (not slaves and others) and give everyone +6 more global attributes.

I was half and half with their removal tbh. Could see the need, but also liked the flavour they added. But it was the best move for the game no doubt.

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

Personally, I've never been for this skill training system ever since I started playing EvE. I've just dealt with it due to the fact that it was part of the game, and I wanted to fly nicer ships. If a better system could be instituted (one where it would work both on and off-line) as far as gaining SP was concerned,..

This was indeed the case, a capability that thankfully got taken away since it was (as usual in EVE) abused and exploited beyond the beyond.

It was called "Ghost Training".

edit: upon rereading your comment, this may not be quite what you are talking about. But this was in place until about around the time the Learning Skills were taken away also. Ghost Training was used to train up alts without being subscribed.

Yeah, didn't mean to necro, but wanted to input something I've felt ever since I played EVE long ago...

I meant where you would have two pools of SP: static and dynamic

Static SP gain would work akin to what you have now, but instead of SP being implemented into a skill, it would instead be a continuously accumulating amount. This amount can either directly feed into an actively training skill, or be gained over time so long as you have an active EVE account. (This means that if you unsub, or let your time expire, this function automatically disables itself). The amount of static SP gained would be your average attribute amount times 100 per hour.

Dynamic would work off of your modules and interactions. Like 1~3 SP per action for which you gain toward an Attribute pool of SP. These attribute pools could be used to accelerate training on a RELATED skill based off of those attributes (Using Will+Percep SP to train Missile Bombardment and such). The limit to dynamic SP you can gain is up to 10*current attribute total per pool. in other words, you have to spend those SP to empty the pool in order to acquire more points. This is also to ensure that Dynamic SP doesn't overly outpaces Static SP, but gives the benefit to ACTIVE accounts that actually play the game, not accounts who just sit in station training absurdly long skills till they can be picked up again or just sold off later...

Essentially, this is what I meant: something in the game that relates to my learning experience other than 'time/money invested'. It's not meant to work like an XP system, but something in which occurs as you make choices in the game.
