Hi guys!


Well I'd like to begin by thanking CCP for 9 years of awesome gaming in the =EVE= universe, one of the finest games ever created by the hand and mind of mankind.
I must say though, after being an active pilot in eve for all but seven or eight months since early 2004, I'm a little disappointed.

Disappointed with the game? No, it's still as diverse and fantastic as it was nearly nine years ago, more so even.
I'm disappointed because after nearly nine years of loyally paying my subscription the reward I get at Christmas is:
A lump of carbon,
Some trading card things,
A data thingy which is of no use,
A broken music player of some kind and an implant which I already have from the last time gifts were given out....And lets not forget the shiny Probe frigate too.....Oh and snowballz too. Fun, even if they are a little childish ;).

What I'd much rather see is more of a reward for the length of time you've been an active subscriber in Eve, like say...For ten years subscription something like a 1 run faction battleship bp, nine years subs - faction cruiser bp and so-forth.....


So come on CCP! Get it sorted and reward our loyalty and add some more incentive for people to stick around in eve.

They are gifts .. if you receive a gift you say thank you whether you like it or not .. whining about how useless a gift is and that you'd really have liked a ferrari instead is decidely bad form.

Whining...No.

Wanting to put my point across - Yes.
As I said in the 1st post, it would be better for everyone (in time) if gifts reflected the amount of time you've invested in the game.

I see your point I really do and you're not the first person who has brought this up, but a gift is a gift; you don't have to give it. CCP didn't have to give us anything. I'm trying to remember all of the other MMO's I've played in the past and which one's actually gave something out... And tbh I can't think of any. Events sure, maybe some weird drink you could buy from a vendor, or additional festive quests, but an actual present to all players, ...Actually yeah, I remember when I used to play WoW not long enough ago Blizzard sent out an in-game mail to all players. Completely random per character. And the only I remember worth talking about was the pets... which required some special item to summon, like a snowball. And if you didn't have that item, you weren't summoning it.

Didn't mean to go that far off topic, but essentially should just be happy got anything at all is what I'm getting at. Yeah a faction BS would be effing sweet, but as Alba said it really is like asking for a Ferrari.

CCP, I too am not happy with my free stuff you didnt have to give me. I too believe that I am entitled to better and/or more free stuff simply because ive played for a long time. Maybe there should be some kind of loyalty program...or maybe a punch card where you buy 10 accounts and you get one free...then all 11 of my accounts will get more better free stuff simply becasue ive played for so long.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

What CCP owes its customers is to keep the servers up, to help out with bugs/petitions and too keep comming out with additional content if they want to keep their customers.... Seems to me they have been keeping up with their end and im keep up with my end (subbed acct). Im very happy that they gave me a Gift. (Free/Holiday Spirit)

You are confusing Vet rewards with a holiday gift pack.

I like my frigates, the rest I can say I have very little use for but that is in no way an indication I don't appreciate the time spent crafting little stories for them and having fun with the gifting. There are enough people willing to take it all off your hands in Jita and you can then buy what ever you decide you wanted. There is enough there to get pretty much any Faction Navy cruiser, or a pirate frigate.

Never played Everquest? It has a veteran reward system which gives you presents for each year you have subscribed. Counts from when you first subscribed not a holiday gift sort of thing. That's more of what the OP has in mind.

I wouldn't mind a veteran rewards system for EVE, but if you give out unique items then new players will whine and if you give out items in the game already then producers whine and I don't think people will keep a subscription just for a small gift once a year.

im quite happy with the funny named scanning frig with the cool paint job....im even gonna log in later and fit it out for WH scannin :), thx CCP. .. the carbon i deserve, and everything else islike the stuff santa leaves in your stocking, or the sweater your hairy old aunt gave you ... happy holidays all.

You did get a special gift for all your time in EVE; you got all that time in EVE!

But seriously; don't be that guy - the gifts are a nice, fun and safe thing to add to the game, to cultivate our sense of community without offending anyone and without CCP being forced to work out, which animal, in this great farm is more equal than the others?

Anyway; Ranting and trolling are not allowed here and this thread is only going to cause that, so I'm nipping it in the bud here.
