No turret skills only missiles, any armor ships available?

Hi,

My main is dedicated Caldari pilot. Born in time when hybrids were silly weapons. That means he is skilled in missiles only (support skills and several tech 2 launchers) but has no skills in gunnery. Only Weapon Upgrades from there.
His corp however frequently assembles armor fleets to various actions in WH or LS and then my main has nothing to fly regardless having armor thanking skills.

Here I am asking you for help in finding alternative armor hulls for use with missiles
Preferred are T1 frigates, cruisers and BS class as most planned activities are PvP so ship must be cheap and thus expendable.

Right now my plans are to constrain into Guardian but this means support role instead of combat one I want.

The Sacrilege is an Amarr Heavy Assault Cruiser that spits out HAMs. It's dps is somewhere in the range of 400, so not really that awesome. But if you have logi with you, you will probably be one of the last ships to die.
The upgrade from here on would be a HAM Legion.
The Frigate equivalent would be a Vengeance.
The Scorpion works in an Armor-Setup, too, providing ECM and probably cruise missile dps. Prepare to be primaried, though.

The other options are based around supporting roles like Recons, for example a Curse or Pilgrim, they tend to usually be shield tanked tough. But with their T2 resistance profile i can see them being armor tanked efficiently.

You'll need fitting imps though, or Meta that armor plate. This way, you will certainly be primaried unless there are ECM ships on field.

Typhoon can armour tank, and whilst it's not a dedicated missile boat, it has 4 launchers and a ROF bonus.

If you're interested in armour tanking and missiles, Khanid ships are the way to go. The Vengeance is a mean bugger and can tank like no other. The Sac plays that same role but bigger. Stupidly good T2 resists and can have a monstrous tank as well. After the rebalance, the Damnation will also be a missile spitting beast. All in all, there are plenty of good armour missile ship. As mentioned above, the Phoon can wield torps and a solid armour tank, and after the BS rebalance, it is going to be a fully fledge torp boat with great speed (for a bs). Also, the Claymore is becoming a missile boat, but that is usually shield tanked.

I'll take 2 carebears to go, with extra tears

Since OP was asking about T1 ships, I think the picture looks pretty bleak.
Sure, there is the Phoon, but it is a VERY skill heavy ship, by the time you have the skills to fly a Phoon decently you could have trained a new weapon system to large t2 guns + support skills easily...

My advice would be to just accept it and train for hybrids or lasers if you want to fly cheap t1 armor ships a lot.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

It's not a great choice, but the recently redesigned Bellicose class cruiser has only a 200hp difference between its base armor and shields (1400 shields/1200 Armor). Slot layout is a 4/5/4 with 4 missile hardpoints. You could put together an average armor tank, plus most people will probably assume you're shield tanked. Throw a few more TPs on there than you normally would and HAM lanuchers. I've only put together a fit as a shield tank, so I'm not sure how the PG would be on it with an armor fit.

A lot of the cruisers make viable armor tanks if that's what you're going for. Even the Crapacal has 4 lows now.

That armor Drake fit inspired me a bit. I'm unable to fit it with 1600 plate but 800 can be fitted.
I've already sketched some fits in EveHQ. Seems promising. DPS not impressive but has other benefits.
Inspiring idea of missile ship with a lot of utility slots hanging at gate fitted with HAM.
IMVHO need small fleet to be fully utilized but really, really worth to try.

Thanks for all suggestions, will analyze them all.

One question - anyone has tried HAM legion ? How it works ? Any stats ?

HAM Legion for PvP is great! I forget exactly how mine was fit, but it was something like 900 DPS, 150k EHP, 100mn AB, scram, dual webs, or one web and one paint.

It's not cheap though.

A few thoughts.

1. You can armour tank almost anything tbh.

2. You can kite with missiles, so tank shouldn't affect your fleet overall

3. Frigates and cruisers that you deem 'expendable'. Fit them for pure gank and do the best you can for as long as you can.

Hi,

I know that I can armour tank almost anything but the point is to fly a ship :
1. with missile bonus
2. not gimped (dps) by using armour fit (like raven or Drake).
