Ok so now we have these tournament cards (well all except one, but thats discussed in other threads already) and maybe in the future there will be new sets of tournament cards. Now I've been thinking having these just float around in the item hangar kinda sucks. So i put my tournament cards into a container, which made me think that it would be awesome if we had the game equivalent of an card collection album. It doesnt have to be something extremely new. I thought a modified version of an audit log container (since you can lock the items there) would be enough for that.

so what i am imagining to get some kind of order into the card collection and the ones to follow is a container with the collection name (up until here i can already do it with the stuff available) but it should only be possible to add cards of that tournament to the container and in the container should be greyed out icons + names for the cards you dont have yet (visual would look pretty much like a locked item). If you add a card to the container that icon gets coloured and you obviously can stack multiple of the same card on that stack. Every card would have a specific spot in the container. alphabetically for example. so if you got just the card of a team in the middle, in the container would be greyed out fields for the missing cards in front of the card you have and after the cards you have but the space of the card you own would be the one coloured. i hope you get what i mean.

just an idea i had and i think it would be great for really having collections of these cards.

p.s.: the albums could be sold by npcs for some amount of isk and act as another isk sink. (low or high price, i dont care ;D )

Unless there was some kind of parallel of use for a collection UI in a specific container that actually effected game play in a worthwhile way to devote time and resources to. I think you're going to have to live with a named small audit can.
They cant even give us new fleet hanger tabs because its difficult. Can't imagine the trouble of a collection UI in the unified inventory.

i didnt post this in the hopes the management of CCP would say we have to do this, stop everything else. I posted this in the hopes that there is a dev that feels the same when he reads it and decides to just do it (if it isnt too much work). ^^ so who knows maybe there is a dev around that collected cards when he was young and feels it would be a nice addition.

I put all my cards up for 10-15m, as there were no others in region and I thought I could maybe catch somebody with the 10m. I never really thought they'd go.

To my delight, all of them have been sold... an easy 50mil for me! And whoever said the gifts were useless?

I may have missed it, so sorry if I did, but is there a link explaining what these cards are for or do?

I looked and could not find anything other than just a listing of the gifts.

I think the albums should include every item in the game. One album for Gallente ships, another for shield modules. It could contain every single item that has ever dropped for that field, including the insanely rare.

I strongly doubt we'd ever see it for isk, but I'm betting plex or aurum. I know people who keep "collection hangars". I just don't see much of a market for it from the majority of the playerbase, which means the odds of getting the coding done by the devs is slim to none.

Then there's the logistical matter- if you transport your album, what kind of kill value does it get? If you keep it in one hangar, do you try to sneak the uber rare ships in so you can put it in the collection book? Can you put it in and take it out? I can see transport exploits in our future:)
