So I had a fit with hams that reached out to about 20km range with faction missiles but it seemed only ok. Is this ship now useful for camps and pvp in general or is it still lacking? Any good fits now?

The Sac was always pretty good relative to other combat HACs. It mainly only suffered by virtue of the fact that Drakes and Canes were better. Now that they were (and are getting again in the near future) nerfed, combat HACs like the Sac are more appealing.

The HAM Drake got significantly boosted. The Sacrilege is still almost entirely pointless.

The Sacrilege's bonuses favor it's use in situations where you are alone or in a small gang, depending mostly on your local tank. Since people tend to bring their own friends though, you maybe see the downside. Better bring a ship that functions well with your friends, too.

However, with the changes to missile skills and implants, the removal of Tech 2 Missile velocity / signature maluses and the powergrid gain from reduced fitting for HAMs, it definately got buffed. And we will definately see balancing on this ship in future patch iterations.

So, yeah, it got better, try it out if it suits your task. I'm considering getting one for small gang shenanigans now.

I find it one of the better amarr ships but still not that good, it's basic task is tanking and it seems very good at that. It's resist bonus means it can have a good buffer with plates and it's cap bonus means it can have a great active tank.

choice of damage type and no cap use on weapons makes it a refreshing change from using lasers

I think HAMs could use a bit more range

I would rather see lasers worked on either reduce laser cap use or increase the ship laser bonus to 15% per level

or what I would do is get rid of the laser cap use bonus on amarr laser ships, give it a 5% damage bonus and give the ship itself a straight up better base capacitor.

I can use Min and Amar ships below battleship with basically equal skills, very rarely find a reason to use an amarr ship. Projectile weapons just seem to **** all over lasers.

So I am thinking... (no eft at work. I need a good mobile eft app)

Highs would be all HAMs, one utility high slot to be filled later.

Mids would be an MWD, Scram, web, and either another web, target painter, or sensor boost for locking speed depending on room and need.

Lows would be a plate, dc, ballistic control, enam or anam, and repper.

Rigs... One that increases the velocity of the rockets for increased range, the other being a tank or fitting mod.

Here's hoping this works well.

If you're using an Android phone you can download Aura. Tracks skills like EVEMon as well as offering a limited fitting capability etc...

Can't remember the name of the iPhone version of it, but I know there is one.

sacrilege is, and always has been, a great ship.
it is a solo ship so youre not always going to be able to use it but it's fkn great at what it does.

Mr Javixx made a great post about it: http://eveoganda.blogspot.com/2012/12/learn-to-fly-sacrilege.html

It seems to be his favourite ship for 2012.

I've had great fun with the Sacrilege and I plan to have much more.

For solo/smallgang fights in FW it is amazing, as it is the heaviest ship that can make an appearence in medium plexes.

Forgive me for being sceptical of a fit created by someone who doesn't know which painter to use.

It's obsolete in large scale PvP. Yeah it can get a huge buffer and yes it gets a bonus to 4 different damage types. But range is a concern along with DPS. It's ok for small scale stuff but you won't see any alliance wide doctrines come out using this ship until it gets more range....

"Parallel Weapon Navigation Transmitter". Spot the problem yet?

The logic of a painter on the Sac is deeply questionable anyway.

I flat don't rate the Sac as a solo ship. Unremarkable DPS, unremarkable tank, unremarkable mobility. It offers very little over the Drake at a huge increase in cost, while still normally having to go into web range - just another case of Deimos Syndrome. I'd use it in gang when supported by logis to take advantage of the small sig and high resists.

i regularly fly a sacrilege to blitz l3s and even on some lower danger l4s and it is a good ship. now after the HAM buff its even better. 550 dps, super buffer no resist below 80% . 1400 m/s and mine is cap stable with either the MWD or the repper, the range is tight, 20km but with that killer buffer and some speed tank this ship has become a real contender. float like a butterfly, sting like a sacrilege
