Poor man's pve rupture

Googling "pve rupture" returns results that are several years old. So here I am.

I'm curious as to what a good setup would be for a pve shield rupture, this is my first cruiser.

I can't emphasize cheap enough.

Cruisers were recently rebalanced, so there's probably not a lot of material that you can copy and paste into your fit. At best, you should look at what other people were doing and adjust it to fit.

Both those builds have ruptures with 6 high slots.

Mine only has 5.

They also only have 3 mid slots, whereas mine has 4.

Hate to try to fit anything like those right now. Perhaps people aren't entirely sure how to fit them so soon after a big expansion.

off the top of my head

high : 5x 425mm AC - the best you can afford
mid : MSE, ADaptive Invuln, shield booster, AB, Tracking Computer
low: PDU, Gyrostab, DCU,??

Ammo either EMP-M or Fusion-M

The ship still only has 4 gun turrets, it lost one of it's launcher slots. I like to kite so I fit mine up like this:

Fitting a pve cruiser is not hard, esp for level 2's.

Best bet is to pick if you want to use Autocannons (short to medium range) or artillery (medium to long range).

Once you have decided what you want you taylor the fit towards it, if you are going with Artillery a buffer shield tank would work just fine, this means a shield extender, some resists and a propulsion mod to keep distance on the npc's. Lows should be damage/tracking with fitting mods to boot, rigs optional.

If you are going with Autocannons you would want an active tank so you can live longer in the big ball of NPC's you will be brawling down, so a shield booster of a decent size, medium with good resists would suffice for a level2 (a lrg if possible) and a propulsion mod, if you have low skill points a cap booster to keep cap up might be a good idea, as per usual damage/tracking mods in the lows and fitting mods if required.

This here is a very straight forward low skill autocannon rupture, its very easy to fit, you can make it cheaper by bringing those guns/other modules down to lower meta levels like 1/2. If you do not know what meta level is, its the quality of the module, it ranges from 0 to 5 for basic tech 1 through named to tech 2, tech 1 being meta zero and tech 2 being meta 5. Faction goes above this but not important to know until later on in the game.

Basically the better the meta level is the better the module is going to perform, some meta's are cheaper than other but the general rule is meta 4 is more expensive than meta 1, in some cases it is not, 90% of the time meta 1 or 2 is cheaper than meta 0 (plain tech 1).

So learn this, if you have not already :S I could be sitting typing this like an idiot and you already know :D

So you have EMP-M ammo, Mjolnir missiles, Exp resist and Warrior drones .. and you complain about my "off the top of my head fit" - I admit I didn't check the slot fit ..

It's the wrong ammo type against angels yet the best drones and resists against them..
So on this example the ammo should be Fusion.
the LMU is also fail ... should be a rapid light laucher of the best type afforable.. with havoc missiles vs angels

Against drones the fit fails as whilst it has the best ammo and missiles (again a fail launcher) it has the wrong resist and the wrong drones needs either emp or omni resist(adaptive invuln) and acolytes or hobgobs.

The cap booster also promotes lazyness .. and you shouln't need the large shield booster . which is why I suggested a medium with a tracking comp, and a PDU in the low .. this gives cap regen, higher cap, and a shield regen even if none are a high as dedicated modules, and since you have a permanent higher base regen you shouldn't need the booster as often.

With T2 425s, a T2 gyro, and a T2 Tracking comp (skills necessary to match) the 425's will hit at 14km (with fusion ammo) and you should be able to all but the fastest frigs - which is what the drones and launcher are for. With a T2 launcher and appropriate skill you'll have a 27km range..

The object is to tailor the resist, ammo, and drone type to match the mission targets. For everything except Angels use hobgoblin drones.

Really dude? Really? You seriously think I was bothered about the ammo loaded in the guns? Do you think the op is too stupid to know what shoots what? You really think the op can use all that t2 stuff? You do realise I based this fit along the line a very low sp character and a rapid light missile launcher would require engineering lvl3, which afaik the op might not have it. You might not need the large booster and cap booster but it leaves some room for error, it also gives the pilot a taste of active tanking which he will most likely be doing in the future, a cap booster on my 70mil sp character is completely useless but on a low SP character would leave them with more cap to play with.

You really are pretty thick mate, if you really though of a cruiser fit off the top of your head and instantly though "mse" "tracking computer" and "pdu" on a AC rupture then you should seriously not be on here suggesting fits to anyone.
