Injected Skill Removal?

I've recently purchased a variety of skills that I've injected onto one of my characters. I'm relatively new to this game and I wasn't aware how (almost) useless the "Survey" skill is to PVP. (Note, I don't pirate or "suicide gank", so I wouldn't need the cargo scanners).

Now my Question is: Could I petition a GM to remove that injected skill? Please bear in mind that I did not train it at all, and I wouldn't see how it would give me an advantage in game if a GM were to remove that skill.

Anyone else have experience with matters like this?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm wondering if a GM will actually do it.

You can petition whatever you want

It's useful as a prerequisite for Salvaging, IIRC. Maybe something else too.

Well that was helpful. I'm more or less asking if a GM would process my request or not.

I doubt it, this is one of those things that CCP tells you to accept and move on with. I have a few of those skills too Sad

I did a bit of forum browsing about this topic. Most, if not all of the people asking to have a skill or two removed already had them trained. Some argued that this would give them an advantage by "clearing up" some skills they didn't use, effectively making their clone cheaper (argued as advantageous).

I didn't even train the skill yet :/

CCP won't remove skills.

Sometimes CCP lowers the prerequisites for a ship, so you end up with all these skills trained to 5 and the ship only requires level 4 now; such is life oh well.

Just ignore the skill and move on. Maybe you'll use it later, who knows, maybe you find yourself mining and want to see what's in an asteroid.

Expect to have a whole bunch of skills trained, and don't expect to be able to keep your character "perfect."

EDIT: Also, sometimes Plunderbunny roleplays snarky on all forums. You'll eventually get used to the various personalities.

EDIT 2: Clones, cheaper, yes, but it only makes a difference when you have many millions of skillpoints, and even then it's a matter of "why the heck did you train a year of Industry if all you want to do is Fleet Warfare PVP?" rather than the odd skill. Nobody cares about the odd skill, and some of them are even good for you. IMO all pilots should be able to fly an industrial ship, have trading skills, mine (however poorly) and refine, and even manufacture and research. You may find yourself stuck in an outpost with no resources, who knows.

Well that's unfortunate. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask though right? That's a tad annoying. Thanks for the information though.

For what it is worth...

Survey is helpful with Ship Scanners, used to monitor capacitor level. Quite a common skill for capacitor warfare pilots.

It is also helpful with Cargo Scanners, used to check potential targets for ganking.

Once upon a time, Survey 5 was a prerequisite for Hacking (or was it Archeology? Or both?), so a lot of vets have it trained all the way.

It doesn't hurt to ask, but undoing actions in game is something the GMs generally only do when there was a bug/glitch involved -- and even then, not always.

Please don't bother wasting GM's time. Frivolous petitions just increase their workload and make the wait times for real issues longer.

Why do you want it removed? What harm is it doing you to have it injected?

REally.

That skills costs peanuts.
And you worry cause you have it injected...

Go away please, make room for proper new player questions.

And no, cause you post with an alt you won't get friendly answers from me.

Someone who thinks survey is useless for pvp??

You don't really understand the game yet so I'd wait before over-thinking things. I guarantee you'll have to train it again in the future if you remove it now.
