Has the Caldari pilot certificate retrieval tutorial mission been glitched?

Here is the text of the mission:

Mission briefing
You've been learning quickly, Adela Talvanen. You're ready to start setting your own goals soon, but before you head out on your own you should stop off at a local academy of ours.

Follow the tutorial steps to guide you to a neighboring system where you will receive your certification documents proving you completed this course.

The Academy Objectives
The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission:

Bring Item Objective
Acquire these goods:
Drop-off Location 1.0 Todaki VI - Moon 1 - School of Applied Knowledge
Item 1 x Pilot Certification Documents (0.1 m³)

Objective
Travel to the Academy, retrieve the Pilot Certification Documents from the office, and bring them back to Aura.

Location 1.0 Kakakela

I did all of that, jumped through the correct star gate, and set the destination got there, but there is nothing at the objective. No academy, nothing in the system resembling the Caldari academy with the 'small office' or the supposed Caldari ships I can have a look at.

I'm thinking that CCP has removed the academy from this basic mission.

did you warp to the deadspace location after getting there?

Regardless of what a mission wants you to do you can always right click in space and warp to a mission objective, whether it's a real station to pick something up at or a deadspace location you need to kill someone at.

The "Academy" is not a regular station, it's a mission-related tower in space at the location indicated in your mission. Warp to your mission location in Kakakela, and you should find it, and the container with the certification.

I did all of that, but the ship stops in empty space.

And there will be something in that piece of empty space. An acceleration gate if I recall. Select the gate and activate it (shortcut 'D')

Did you make sure your overview is set to show the "academy".

When in doubt, there is a preset overview to show all things.

Help channel: Help chat - Reloaded

There is no acceleration gate.

I'll go back there again, and see what the overview comes up with when I ask it to show everything.

Well, I went there...again, clicked on the overview to show all, and no indication the academy ever existed.

There is nothing at the location, no acceleration gate, nothing but empty space.

The only Caldari things in that system are admin stations and Concord HQ's.

The tutorial says I've arrived at the academy, but all I saw was empty space and distant stars.

Missions can sometimes glitch if there is a downtime after you first try the mission.

Downtime resets missions that haven't been completed, but if you have triggered one of the requirements; ie flying to the location, its possible it has despawned without you picking up the item.

F12 and petition a GM for a mission reset. The GM's are very good about resetting the tutorial missions.

^ This great advise right there.

If you ever have problems with a mission just file a petition under F12 > Petition > Game play > Missions In Progress and GM will be able to help you out.

Just a quick post to say the GM reset it and it's all sorted. Big smile

A lot of Caladari ships to chose from. Some are tough combat ships for a fight, and some are weak, and not up for a fight, and just used for fleet work or trading or mining.

The Ferox looks a good ship able to hold its own in a PvP encounter thou.
