Well, I have two Nightmares, one I called "H. R. Giger". When I'm told that it has not enough phallic motiffs, I tend to respond that one should see interior.
Another one I called "Ghast". Somewhat similar meaning, but hey, Minecraft is such a nice game Smile

Probably one day I'll get something magnificent enough to use one of those cheesy names from Halo (like, "In Amber Clad" suits some Amarr ship well), but since I'm going to finish training Destroyers 5 soon, expect me to use names more along the line of "Wreck-Minus Five Minutes... And Counting" Lol

I dont name particalar ships with particular builds, they just die to fast....I rotate the below names and can have several of the same name in my hanger at once.

they dont last long - ppppppppvppppppppp, except for the Holydriver which has been a drake for the past year and hasnt died - who primaries a drake 1st? :)

i used to name them after Culture ships, but those names are just too long most of the time.

Drake - Pancake.
Some ships that i fly in low sec - inside force field or stargate (named system) - UFO
Falcon - Moas - Ugly duck.
Dominix - Potato

Some with names like dps support omega - dps support alpha.
Stabber - recon 3of 3 blitz, just to know what fit inside and role of specyfic ship i got for meny occasions without opening and cheking fit.

Meny other named with my native language words (non English)

I generally fly Amarr ships, so I try to go with the best Latinized pseudo-Gothic English I can for my amarr boats, and tend to use some sort of scientific terminology/translation for caldari boats. Favorites so far are:

Navygeddon - Luminous Ascension
Curse - Glorious Abyss
Anathema - Umbral Eye
Malediction - Nox Lamina
Archon (before she sploded) - Canticum Nocentibus
Tengu - Kinetic Potential
Nightmare - Eternity of Pain
Debora Tsung
Perkone
Caldari State

A GM will google it and ban me for profanity is rather small :p

Did produce some intresting convo's in local :)

Some ships are less creative, a Rook became Jam's 'R Us ,
A hotdrop falcon " **** delivery" , ect.. Ect..

Did stop numbering fleet battleships, as in a long war it gets depressing naming a Geddon " Lazershow 6 "


Personally i find it more entertaining to go creative on POS names.

As a Minmatar and having interest in Norse mythology, I tend to name my ships to lesser known Eddic entities, like trolls or frost giants. Sometimes I just refer to it, like my last ship name: The World Serpent.

These days I'm mostly using Angel rat names, but a name many of my Frigates take for Null Sec solo-roams is 'Innrásaraðili'.
