Still mulling over what to do afterwards, economy's not doing so good so I'm mulling over the Royal Navy for a few years to get some money and experience. Don't suppose anyone else has done this at all?... Pirate

Back at University finishing my criminal justice degree and working as a lifeguard because being in the gym 6 days a week is a good thing Big smile

After university I'll be starting up my own private security business (or buying a security franchise because with crap already set up it'll be easier)

I've already mentioned my current occupation but my previous one was much more fun: I worked for Mecca Bingo for 3 years prior to my work as a Support Worker.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I did similar many, many years ago but went down the army path. Just make sure that you get a clear accelerated promotion path to reward you for the time that you have invested in getting the qualifications that they are going to benefit from

The one that the chaps at the recruitment office pointed to me towards was Marine Engineering Officer, seemed interested in getting me to go for the Submarine fleet though. Mention of postgrad diplomas too, still researching it but it looks appealing to do for a few years and look at BAE or do an EngD and see how it ends up What?

kinda makes me quite disgusted seeing the wreck of a husk of a human being that these addicts become. people doing the job of treating them are quite the heroes tbh.

My wife used to treat addicts, amongst others, and she'd always comment that the worst form of addiction was alcohol. Coming off that is far, far more dangerous and damaging than the H stuff.

Only one is tolerated by society and the other isn't.

true, forgot about alcohol. but disregarding alchohol, H stuff is.. quite bad. coke is bad but at least the person retains some functionality, for example, but H, he's as functional as a lump of inert flesh.
