EVE is very beautiful; I'm lucky enough to be able to get away with running it on Max settings (apart from Incarna textures) and wow, lovely!
Was just discussing this with my team and the conclusion was that the only way to make it even nicer would be to have a nice 30" IPS monitor too Big smile

Yeah the WiS and Incarna crap just bogs my computer down. Everything else is 10/10 though.

Needs better reflections and effects on ship from modules and sheilds.
Sort of like a liquid shimmer.
Oh and it all needs to be brown.
And bloom lots and lots of bloom!
Bloom blooms blooming everywhere!


Oh and in the event you do not want to be considered a modern game the first bit is all I ask.

Installed an EVGA GTX 690 this past Saturday. It replaces two EVGA Classified GTX 285 in SLI mode.

Difference: the single GTX 690 can run with all EVE features maxed at 45 degC in space (fan about 30%-33%), or about 55-60 degC in the CQ. Shocked This is far cooler, quieter, and much better than the GTX 285's with most features on medium or disabled.

I also now have room for a USB 3.0 PCIe card (i7-975 EE 3.3 GHz "Bloomfield" processor on mobo, so no desire to replace that yet).

I upgraded to the GTX 690 (DirectX11) when I noticed the GTX 285 (DirectX10) was on the bottom of the Nvidia performance chart and about to fall off.

EVE looks sooooo much better now, and I can run multiple clients without dropping the quality settings!

Similar story for mobile GPUs (which is what the iMac range uses): http://www.geforce.com/Active/en_US/shared/images/products/shared/600m-lineup.png

The GTX 680MX is an upgrade option for the high-end 27" iMac, the GT 640M is the chipset used in the base model 21.5" iMac. The "textured polygons" count is around four times greater on the higher end than the low end. I wonder if the Apple Store will let me try EVE on their computers in the shop?
