First of all, the point of this thread:

In hopes of an EVE executive reads this, and completely changes the entire game to the way it is supposed to be. (lol)
Or for the community to read and agree with, and riot in the streets in the demand of eve revolution.




When the game first starts up,

I was a person! I fully expected this game to be an FPS mixed with the spaceship command elements. After all, why wouldn't I?

Most of you eve-lovers will stop reading right here, I know. (if you even clicked on this post)

It was a completely subjective experience, but that colossal let down hit me hard. Not being able to exit my ship? Explore planets? Shoot people in the face??



I honestly had no clue that this wasn't a feature until well after I subscribed. (again, my own fault)

My excuse:
I thought I needed exploration/transporter ships to land on planets! so I was looking for them. And the quests to begin with were all ship-related, by the time my trial was up I just thought I hadn't leveled up fast enough to get to the fun stuff. (Hours and Hours of tutorial/training anyone?)





Ok I swallowed that pill.
I'm paying real money just to fly around in spaceships.
whatever.

These ships seemed really interesting, with all the modules and slots and skills.
So OK.
I'm going to have so much fun shooting stuff down! *(I thought)*




My first encounters with enemy forces:
The music picks up, increasingly climatic.
Excitement coursing through my veins.
All these thoughts running through my head:

What kind of ship will attack me?
Will it fast? slow?

A battle-intended ship, or a transport?
A shuttle?


Will it have lasers? projectiles?
Will it have big guns? and little guns?

Which guns hurt my ship the most?
Which guns do I shoot out first?


Is the ship fast? do I need to completely disable it's engines?
Ok yeah I'll shoot at them.


Is the ship carrying cargo? Projectile ammunition? (exlosives?)
Where is the ships cargohold?


Do i want the ship to explode? OK
I'll shoot through his hull, directed at his missile bay. BOOOOM.


What if I DON/T WANT IT TO BLOW?
I want some of it's weapons, and electronics.

Ok,I'll disable it instead. Disable the shield. Shoot out the engines. Weaken and EMP the weapons systems.
Then I will send in my men or drones to finish off the survivors, and salvage some of the good stuff.


Is my mission a bounty hunt? for the enemy captain perhaps?

Disable shields, and target the cockpit!
Do everything it takes to blow him up, and warp out of there fast.



Does the enemy want to disable me???
Divert power to shields. (less engine, less weapons)

Gotta get outta here???
Divert power to engines. (less shields, less weapons)

enemy shows a window of weakness? (eg. he diverted power to engines so he could try to run)
Divert power to weapons. blow him away before he gets away. .


For god's sake target that turret blasting us!

Able to do a SINGLE thing in this game that I had expected?

For god's sake, make this game an FPS.
Cross-platform on Xbox or something.

People on earth (xbox), relying on the ships in space (computers) for their supplies, trade, and transport.

Or stay PC just whatever it takes OMG.




For Zues's sake, make us able to target strategic structural points on the enemies ship.. -.-
Combat is so boring, there is LITTLE strategy.

(there is *some*, but it's not 'REAL TIME')

PVP needs this. It needs more than 'oh enable all these modules from the start of battle, and use this weapon for range or this weapon for close combat'

It needs REAL TIME, updating decisions. 'oh the enemy knows that I have most of my power diverted to weapons, and he's diverted power to shields and engines hoping to escape?'

I'll divert all power to weapons and engines, completely disabling my shield for a moment, match his speed and blow him away (knowing that my enemy is not attacking, instead running)

That's an example, but there would be many more. .








Anyway this thread has to be VERY hard to read, as it's basically ramblings. (sorry to all who saw this haha)

I didn't put any time into this, and didn't re-read or edit or spellcheck.

Someday perhaps it will expand to stations but for now the game is what it is.
Maybe WIS will turn FPS but the space bit will never change or it shouldn't.
