Drone ships completely useless especially for new players.

You made drone ships completely useless for new players who thinks there are nice, here is experience of relativity new player try do lvl 3 mission in mirmidon..... disaster....

Maybe the new player should be flying a Tristan, Algos or Dragoon in lowsec and have fun instead?

problem is they need to be skilled high to be very good , a guy using tech 2 sentries will devastate missions but it needs time ,
its really is a time invested thing , i agree for the avereage new player to get up the ladder as it where he would be most likely better going missles early and going drones later .

by the time the new player gets sitting in a rattlesnake he should be rocking , but i dont know the estimated tiime line for that maybe 9 months ? .

drones are great but unlike gunnery and missles you need to invest heavily in skill points to get it right

I suggested a change in Drone Skills for new players to go with the new 4-5 Drone Frigates and Destroyers a while back.

Drones I gives you all V Drones launched while the skill gives you 20% Dmg. Drone Interfacing gives you 10% Damage per Lvl. Drone Base Stats are adjusted to meet the new percentage.

Same amount of time to max out Drones but more useful at an earlier level.

Well he is in no way terrible for being a new player. Get off your throne. With a gunboat that mission would've been cake with that piloting. As I wrote in https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2322797#post2322797 , there is so much wrong with how this change was implemented. Noone in their right mind would start to play this game after watching that youtube-clip, and that is a problem.

*edit* And for the target painter/web/ewarwhatever "trick": It just further shows how bad the AI is implemented, and how gimmicky behaves, totaly unintuitive and wierd. While not a problem for "us" who actually reads up on forums etc, it is devastating for new players. And as a change to missions, it applies very heavily to beginners.

Without his fit or his skills, it's a worthless exercise to glean anything from it. I mean, maybe if he had a video pre-Retribution and post-Retribution it might have some weight, but as it stands, it's just someone not being able to tank a mission. Not exactly cause to start screaming for changes.

I used to solo L4s in a Myrmidon. After doing that for a few months "downsizing" to a Gila was like Xmas.

Since this patch? Myrmidon, Gila and even Rattlesnake now collecting dust.

Unfortunately, the tutorials lead new players into the mission system. That is their greatest failing in my opinion.
