Thrasher PVP FIt, i need some critical comments

Below is a fit i just made for a thrasher.
Since the nerf to hmls, I'm at a loss to what would be a good small gang/home defense ship.

I worry about the survivability against battlecruiser, drones, and faction cruisers. As those would be the primary targets. Battleships wouldnt do much, and I think It would handle most non faction frigates.

Im not a pvp expert, so please give me some advice.

Also ask yourself if you will actually get into web & shooting range of your target using AB and long point.

For close range, the Catalyst will beat down an AC Thrasher. It simply has more firepower that it can project farther. It is also faster. The Algos has similar firepower to the AC Thrasher while sporting around 40% more EHP.

For long range the beam Coercer or rail Corm/Cat again push more firepower further. They are also more forgiving with a higher rate of fire and quick ammo changes. Unless you need the alpha for breaking through logistics, the Thrasher is obsolete.

TD thrasher best thrasher.

An AC thrasher will eat drones without much difficulty, presuming you've got the tank to survive them long enough to do so. It's not so great against battlecruisers unless you can dogpile one running solo and shut it down with ewar. And perhaps this is just me, but I wouldn't put an afterburner on a destroyer except for a few gimmick fits. You will just get kited by everything.

Honestly, if you need disposable, accessible home defense ships, a mix of frigates and cruisers is probably a better bet.

Drop the Webifier for a Medium Shield Extender II.
Rigs should focus on shield.
Replace Afterburner with Micro Warpdrive.

Besides that, it looks half decent.

Use close range ammo, and just instapop most frigs. Web anything that gets close and pull away, then pop them. Fairly simple ship to fly.

For small gang/ defense fleets I would go with the arty thrasher. Once the fleets engage just hunt down their fast tackle and insta-pop them. That will be your primary purpose. If you get that done then you can start acting like tackle and going after larger ships.
Your worst enemies are going to be cruisers and BC's as they have that much more tank and dmg, with enough ewar through webs, neuts etc to murder you.

Your defense is that there are other ships in your fleet that the enemy will want to kill first, if they decide your a problem you will die. Fast. and there's not a lot you can do about it P

Fit a 10mn afterburner, a meta medium shield extender, and some nano's Lol . You might have to drop the guns to 150's instead of 200's I don't remember exactly. I used this ship a lot though the 10mn afterburner does a lot for it and negates heavy missile damage well, any larger weapons really.
