Concorde exploit?

For about three hours now, I've been watching some dudes gank an ice miner, concorde spawns and pops them. The dudes then spawn concorde elsewhere in the system (namely on undock shooting at their alt), which removes concorde from the belt so they can pop another mack.

I'd swear I recall reading someplace spawning concorde elsewhere to continue ganking in a specific place was considered an exploit. Is/was that true?

IIRC no since it's sometime also used for other type of ganks without action being taken by CCP. The problem is on the mack's owner side.

This is 100% allowed, by both sides. Miners are allowed to do this in belts to get Concord there, and gankers may do the same to get Concord away. This was a strategy many miners adopted during Hulkaggeddon.

Sounds like cutting-edge, emergant game-play to me.

Spawning/pulling concord is a very old thing, yeah.

The whole thing is kind of funny is some respects.

I always wondered if your ship is insured why the person that destroyed you in a illegal act wasn't slapped with the bill.
I mean should insurance take a loss they don't in RL.

Then again I guess that would mean you couldn't suicide your ships then.
And wars would be real interesting as well, unless you insurance is null in void.

Back in the 90's a plane overshot a runway in England and hit the motorway and cut a a van in half.
I always wondered how the guy filled out that insurance form..
Well you see there I was driving down the road when ......

Makes me wonder if players had to fill out an insurance form to get there ISK back what they would read like.

Most of us can separate real life from a video game, it looks like you are having trouble with this maybe you should get help.

Are you sure you want a video game that realistic?

Because you are comparing a game mechanic which exists for specific gameplay reasons to a real-life policy which has nothing in common with the former, except for sharing the same name.

From a RP point of view insuring ships is absurd the way we go through them. Eve is a commercial universe, no insurance company would ever insure us.

Looks like EVE to me.

Jokes aside, yeah, insurance is one thing that makes no sense and don't even have half-plausible explanation given how EVE economy works at large.
Anyways, I wouldn't QQ about CCP making partial ship reimbursement Smile

It was brought in a long time back (around 2004/5 iirc) when it was much harder to generate ISK so losing even a cruiser was a big deal.

It's redundant now IMV and time it was got rid of.

Don't worry, it'll get nerfed soon so only miners can use it.

Instead of just watching grab a ship with a salvager, Mack wrecks should give t2 salvage and if you're lucky you're there before the suicide ganker alt comes to do the same =)
