ISK per hour on hi-sec vs null sec mining ops?

Just wondering how much you have made on an ISK per hour basis mining in an op in high and in null sec?

Or if you haven't mined in both, how much you have mined in both, how much have you made in one?

Cap James Tkirk - That program looks good and thanks for recommending it - however that is not what I was looking for.

It really totally depends on your setup and situation, no one can give you even a rough estimate.

In highsec you have easy refining and almost no issues with logistics and you're only limited by the amount of ore in the system(s) you're mining.

In null you have the costs to transport to high sec, refining costs in station, system costs in general. Do you have a rorqual or Orca. Do you have an upgraded system or not. Are you mining grav sites or system belts. Are you in a system where you have to pull out every 20 minutes because of hostiles. Are you mining with low cost / less yield ships or not and so on.

2 miners in retrievers in npc null with no rorqual mining to station and killing their own rats will yield less isk/hour then 2 miners in a hulk mining a grav site with a rorqual support in an upgraded system.

Basically if you don't have a rorqual, dont have an upgraded system and don't have grav sites and don't have your own reliable cheap ability to transport items to highsec then you'll make more in highsec.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for exact figures - just ballparks.

I think it is possible to estimate that, as we as a corp running mining missions all the time I know roughly what to expect per member / per hour.

Just wondering what everyone elses benchmark is so I can compare to make sure we're doing OK.

My spreadsheets and IPH indicate that mining in high sec is around 10-11mil isk per hour in a retriver, and around 18mil isk per hour in a hulk. That's if you are lucky or only pick the best ores. Orca support gives around 10% bonus... but you have the general idea.

In low sec it's nnot really worth it as it's way more difficult to mine safely than in null sec. Too much people around ... But anyway it's not really more profitable than hih sec mining.

In null, with perfect skills a hulk and rorqual support it's slightly above 30mil isk per hour if you pick the best ore.

So does common sense, but I guess you can't search for that. I searched and a lot of the posts I bought back listed numbers ranging from 1million to 10 million - obviously before and after game changes so it's hard for me to tell what is the most up to date.

actually, in grav sites the rocks are generally that big that people are working at pretty much 100% efficiency.
not so true in high sec, however grav sites are static and you know exactly what is going to be in them. the same can't be said for high sec belts.

It all depends on a number of factors.
1 - What type of boosts? In null a rorq can get you roughly 45mil an hour in a perfectly skilled hulk and rorq. Orca about 40mil. Plus you can't use a rorq in highsec.
2 - What type of rocks? Cherry picking or flipping belts? Flipping is going to chop your iph down because spod/gneiss is a waste of time and gets crap isk.
3 - You mining grav or natural belts? What do your natural belts look like? Are you in "good" space or space with garbage ores?
4 - Assume perfect in high-sec, how is refining in null? 35% station? 40%? Do you have the refining implant? How are your refining skills? How much tax does the station owner take? 10%? 5%?
5 - How far is the market hub? In null, can you sell locally or do you need to ship it to empire? How much will that cost? Can you jump your ore or do you need to pay someone to ship it?

Someone quoted using the IPH program above, but I made it specifically to answer these types of questions. A page, table, or simple site is never going to tell you everything because there are just too many variables. Even trying to ballpark is hard. You can use my program to figure out how much a hulk will make under the conditions you set, which you will know better than us. That's probably the best way to get a ballpark figure imo.

I use ^^^^^^ this guy's program all the time (meh, i'll remember to send you ISK sometime man).

I mine at hisec, Mackinaw, lvl5 barge, 3 exhumer, 3% implant, 3x MLU2, T2 Kernite crystal... oh and I cherry pick.

One haul (station undock to station unload) is around ~30minutes rakes me in 8,468,489.10 ISK (16,936,978.20 an hour) and I trade in minerals because @ T2 crystal level and a 6.67 station/corp standing, you will be already around that 100% refining rate. And minerals are so easy to transport around for me (compared the the bulky ores) and the 5~10% bump from trading ores against minerals is enough incentive for me to switch from ore to mineral trading.

You should hang around the Market Discussions and Science & Industry forums more, there's alot of people that have asked/answered about these already so you'll find some point of comparison that will be useful for you.

I don't have the maths to hand but I think your best bet will be to mine in high sec. Mining in low sec is REALLY hazardous and not worth the bother. As for mining in nul sec unless you are really well set up and probably with systems locked down 24/7 it's not going to be worth the bother. And as you're asking what is best you are probably not going to be well set up in nul sec.
