Give us watered down Jove ships with the explanation that since the empires have achieved T3 the Jovians gave some of their old ships to show that even their oldest ones are on par with current technology.

Lolwut: "Yes, you kids don't know how lucky you have it. These days noobs get given free tackle ships for PvP but back in the old days the only tackle ships we were given were our pods. We had to use them to bump their rookie ships out of alignment to stop them warping off."

The only sad thing is we never get to see any of the artwork that was included in the game. We know that jovian stations were modelled and skinned but we can never fly around one.

There are tons and tons of weird ships that somehow ended up in the game that we never see: like the one that looks like a dung beetle.

Every pilot needs to to stuff like go see the monolith in Dead End and the EVE wormhole in Genesis. There are lots of art assets in the area like wrecked stations and junk floating in space near gates that you never see out in 0.0. I'd like to see more of it. Its the explorer in me.

I've seen a monolith appear in a sanctum once since i've been playing eve. I've never seen a "This sign has sharp edges" sign appear yet.

Don't worry, the Jovians will return. CONCORD are clearly unable to deal with the sansha threat alone.

They seemed to deal with people accidentally shooting each other during incursions fine however. I nearly put my hobgoblins on the person i was supposed to be repping numerous times and am glad they implemented the safety catch.

This whole discussion only started me thinking about buildable and destroyable space gates.

The Jove is CCP's last card, call it an Ace or the most valued card on the deck... They will only use it if there will be the need for it, like in a desperate attempt to call players to the game (in case subscription would be in dire need) or some marketing campaign aimed at bringing in more players. As it appears so far there has been no need to use such card, so it will remain as always, unused...

I hope they use the Jove card sometime.

Maybe not all at once, but a slow build up... First release some content and the rest maybe in an expansion.

I always thought CCP's last card was the EvE gate re-opening and humans from earth coming in.

And obliderating us to dust.
If they didn't have the blackout we had, then we would be like ants to them in terms of technology.

Read Istvaan posts on this thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=170264&find=unread, he has just convinced me about it. Suddenly I'm pretty sure the jove will eventually come to reap their experiment results.

Why would you want to?

So you can watch developers trying to reproduce exploits and bugs in eve?

Sounds about as much fun as games testing

These are the voyages of the Starship Clear Skles, and its continuing mission to explore strange new sofas. To see out new jokes and new motion capture budgets. To boldly go where most people really don't care about...

As I remember things, going right back to the start of Eve. The Jove were intended to be the 5th player race. The plan was that you couldn't role a Jove character, but your character would eventually evolve into a Jove by following a perticular play route.

I think it was one of those thing that probably looked good on paper, but which never got followed up on, especially as CCP realised just how good players can be at pushing the game past its limits and using game mechanisms unexpected ways, and by unexpected ways I don't mean just exploiting the game. Players are very creative in how they use their tools.

A nice idea that never came to be, but what was left is a damned useful tool for the Dev's to use for testing and the like

What would you do with such power, seeing this place ripe for conquest.
Imagine people like the Amarr as Terrans, we would be slaves.
