Gotta laugh at the offgrid "boosting is cheating" excuse.

I don't recall anyone saying that offgrid boosting is cheating, but I've heard a lot of folks saying that it's a very poor game mechanic.

Care to point out the specific post in which someone actually says "Off grid boosting is cheating"?

Because I'm having a really hard time finding it, even with your handy link pointing back to the thread we're already in; which is just pure genius by the way.

I believe that was Herzog Wolfhammer point, as that's what this thread is about. Even though he didn't actually use that phrase exactly.
But I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Lol

Whups, I missed Herzog's over reaction (sorry Herzog, but that's a bit silly).

Still, you got me, one person went overboard.

You have to admit that the accusation of cheating for using what are now valid game mechanics is a distinct minority.

He does that sometimes, it's mostly why I ignored it.

While we're at it, CCP please reimburse all SP for all ships you've ever changed that I could fly. With all these nerfs I'm now reduced to flying noobships and I don't need all these SP in worthless things like "shields" or "armor". TIA.

That excuse, is just a part of their arsenal. They also don't think you should violence people boats, even if the game allows such things. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should apparently.

It must be great playing chess with these types. Lol

Why do people think rorquals are in trouble? The dev blog said "warfare links" it did not mention "mining foreman links".

Given that the rorq only gets a bonus to mining foreman links, the code must be there to diffetentiate the various links. Couldn't this change truly impact only the warfare links, leaving mining foreman ones alone?

Or am I too optimistic.

I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly rorquals had to siege in the belt for bonuses.

At least, they can compress in a POS and still be used as mini-jump freighters, I guess...

Another excellent example of someone using acronyms when they should not.

Stop it.

I can't find my little violin. So I guess I will just tell you...sucks to be you. You trained an alt to exploit an obviously broken mechanic that should never have existed in the first place. You also clearly got your use out of the skills...no reason you should be refunded them, especially when they can still be used.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821

If only there was a type of ship that could provide modest dps while providing gang links... oh wait- I knew I trained Command Ships for a reason.

For everyone saying 'OGB creates an effective environment that encourages SOLO PvP'... well:

so·lo
/ˈsōlō/
Noun
A thing done by one person unaccompanied, in particular.
Adjective
For or done by one person alone; unaccompanied: "a solo album".
Verb
Perform something unaccompanied, in particular

Take a good hard look at that definition. Your alts leadership skills are not 'wasted', you just have to put him in danger of actually being shot at, you know... that 'pvp' thing you enjoy engaging in.

Thats different. Removing the ability to off grid boost is removing the value of training an offgrid boosting ship like a tengu or a loki.

Or training the command module. There is no viable use of that module other than an OGB.

The skills required for the command processor module augment your boosting capability.

Guess I'll have to take a 100MN AB Command Loki.

Not off-grid anymore, still almost invulnerable.

Offgrid boosters is what is keeping solo and small gang alive. Removing them is completely, 100% ********. Keep them CCP, or lose most of ur old-school PvP players that have been playing for almost over 6+ years.

OGB are the only thing actually enabling us to fight the small gangs you see around now. Unless u want to give us some sort of skills that increase the tank to that of having an offgrid booster, buti dont work when u got ongrid one......

I suppose it never occured to you that the gangs you are fighting were also able to use OGB... and that after the change will be unable to use them just the same as you.

Your logic has no place here sir. Begone!
