A simple poll, do YOU want Station Environments/Establishments?

Yes - I want player establishments and walking in stations. I subscribed 3 accounts before so called "Incarna release" and unsubscribed all of them due to strange prices in NeX shop and finding "myself" in jail cell a.k.a. "captain quarters".

Now the only way to see my accounts active is $4.95 discounted subscription fee (just to train skills) - or proper implementation of WiS. In simple words - I won't resubscribe for at least 8+ months because CCP doesn't have any plans to develop and deploy new content into the game - just debugs and re-balance (which won't affect my gameplay in any way) and 4 questionable ships which I don't really want.

It seems like CCP doesn't have capability to build WiS with actual gamplay - or doesn't want my $45/month, $500/year. Oh, well, I know some other companies who will gladly accept much less money for much better service.

i do really hope CCP keeps a small team working on Incarna... Like they did with team BFF during the "18" months...

i am afraid that CCP dont understand some things...
1st. Drop of player numbers is not because WIS... its about CCPs promises they are giving and not keeping
2nd. Expansion that you dont deliver is not expansion and its not guilty for bad things that happen, its broken promise guilty
3rd. Many ppl are expecting WiS for years... you say no... they are not happy at all...
4th. Many ppl that like FiS are not happy if you use development for NOTHING AT ALL... they would not be angry if they see results of that...
5th. Its not smart to get angry one group of ppl... and then the other... you will have one more drop in players then... only ppl that will stay will be that part of playerbase that dont give a damn about future...

Of course the majority wants WiS, etc, but most people if given the choice, would prefer time/money spent on the things we already have and improving them. Fix everything else before adding something new.

I tend to agree with this (maybe a more even split then a majority though). FiS is where the majority of the game sits and that should be the main focus. WiS though seems a natural extension but without anything worthwhile to DO there it's a feels like a waste of time. As an old Earth and Beyond player the only reason you got out of your ship was to either A) get a mission, B) reload ammo, C) use the builder terminals....ok maybe D) go dance in the hidden disco room. This is pretty much the only reason anyone docks up in EVE save to avoid getting blown the hell up.

In some ways WiS is a massive chicken and the egg dilemma. No one will want you working on it because there's nothing to do there...and there's nothing to do because no one wants you working on it.

I would like to see establishments, but definitely after a lot of things have been fixed and improved on the spaceship side of things since that's EVE's core gameplay. When CCP is confident enough to tackle establishments in their full form, they need to find a way to make them compliment the core game as well as being able to make them stand on their own. That way, CCP will be able to satisfy their core audience and be able to appeal to a new one at the same time.

Something like Incarna's fully featured vision is no small task, however. I would say a project like that definitely has the potential to possess as much depth as the spaceship side of EVE.

Voted.

Comment here:

Yes. I want Establishments/Incarna to be integral part of the game, but not at the cost of neglecting the core gameplay or publishing expansions that don't quite work very well on computers outside of NASA and/or need liquid Nitrogen for cooling when playing the game.

Fixing the core gameplay issues first, polishing the engine and only then deploying the Establishments is the right way to go. As far as I can tell, Hilmar saw that this is the right way too.

Yes for establishments.

I want more than soulless ships flying in space. I finally got out of pod that had been crushing my shoulders and now I want to see other people in flesh and blood. I want to establish a bar where people can buy spirits and forget the horrors of their last death when they met cruel coldness of space.

All that is cool comes from people who are sitting in front of bar desk drinking their ale/spirits and chatting with other people. That cool could finally be true in EVE cosmos but evil enemies of happy life are standing in our way.

grrr.... Evil people won? I hope not.

Yes, as long as they can develope it along side meaningful FiS developement.

Yes, I want a leather shop for the evenings with a nice back room, and a smoothie shop for the mornings.

Be nice. If nice not work, be civil. If civil not work, beat with iron pipe till bloody and still.

I think the MAJORITY want fixes in old content, fixes in years old ignored bugs, FW, better spaceship combat, fixing 0.0, giving love to lowsec WAAAAAAAAAAAY more than they want a side game where they can walk around

As a high priority? No.

At the cost of spaceship content? Hell no.

Yes - but I would rather that CCP not ignore FIS for :18 months: in order to deliver it to us.

I do want it eventually, but I want it released as a full expansion. They should take their time with it though, keep the focus on FiS.

I agree. What I don't like is that CCP is saying that they don't intend to do this.

I really just don't care. Would it be cool to walk around and own establishments and all that kinda stuff? Yeah, of course. Do I want it to put FiS on the back burner while they develop it? No. No I dont.

Hilmar's statements in eurogamer doesnt sound like they're dropping it completely. I hope they focus this next expansion on spaceship, and then come back to the establishments

Personally i couldn't care which came first, but i think spaceships first would silence a lot of whiners

I play RPGs because I like roleplay. This is an MMORPG. So, I roleplay a little as my odd Amarr lady who hates everyone...

I would like establishments and such if done well and completely (not another FW-like failure). Otherwise stick to space.
