drones: show health of all drones also in drone bay

once a drone is returned back to drone bay the information on it's health disappears, why? it is needed:

say you have 8 heavy drones with you, one went into armor and you exchange it against a "fresh" one. now another gets hurt, and you need to exchange it too. but now you dont know which drone in the bay is fresh drones and which is damaged / how far the shield has already recovered. all look the same, but they are not.

"I'd also like the drone list in the drone window to remember it being expanded... hate having to expand it every single time I undock or jump trough a gate." (credit to Vizvayu Koga).

and a setting that if drones being in a group are put out, the group can be always expanded so you see the life bars automatically.

your post got me worried so i checked. lol. no they dont show it.

once drones are back in bay, eve just shows the name (type) of drone and thats it. the lifebar (shield+armor+hull, like in watch list or for drones being in space) is not shown anymore.

Good idea, I'd also like the drone list in the drone window to remember it being expanded... hate having to expand it every single time I undock or jump trough a gate.

I agree that both of these suggestions should be implemented.

I want to put my vote in for the drones showing their health while in "drone bay". This should be among the easiest of fixes for them to make, and should have been done years ago. It would be nice to know if there was a reason for this, or just overlooked.

I'm reposting so that people view this, let me restate how easy this should be to fix. how there is no reason fof it to not be implemented.

and i want to ask everyone, why is there not a mass support for this tiny issue. out of all the flaws of eve, this is one that should already be inplace. I see no reason why the health bar of drones disapear when you return them to bay. if you cant do this then at least give them a number for which one was most recently docked.

Is there an order that they go back into the drone bay?

I know this is a small issue, but please see this ccp, and add it to a coming update. It almost feels likes its more of a clitch than anything else.

Problem is that there are so many little things in this area that a redesign of the drone window would be probably quicker.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

+1 here :)

To be honest the GUI needs a lot of work it's a total shamble, I want overall screen layout profiles for station/different ships/PI.

I would put this P0 if I was part of the design team.

i agree completely. feel free to make more simple UI-usability enhancing suggestions, i collect those and will maintain a site for them soon. maybe you also take a look my current list and also comment on /like some of them...

A commonly requested feature. Honestly, it makes no sense that it isn't there already.

CCP explanation is that the client doesn't already get this info, so it'd end up increasing server load. Might be more viable now that supers can't have a bajillion of the things though.

I'm glad to at least hear some form of reasoning, but i do not feel that would/should cause to much info transfer server side to not implement it. did they use to have the feature, and then removed it because of lag, or are they just speculating that it would be too much. would there be a way to implement (showing drone health while in "bay") not directly using the server, but the client side computer. I realize there would be information to transfer, but isnt the information already there? your drones take an x amount of damage, and is stored for redeploying, as well, they regen sheilds with the same info.

I say if they are afriad of lagging out the system, then bring it to the tests. because this is one of the most convenient changes that should be made, and as far as ive seen it has a %100 support. there are a few people saying that drone ui just needs an over haul, but thats not in disagreement, and actually would be pretty sweet. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for what this would look like, and/or do?

+1/bump. Yes, please! Not being able to see the health of in-bay drones is incredibly annoying. And I agree that it should be a very easy fix.

+1 Bump This should already be in place. On a side note why with drone ships is there not a mod probably a low or mid slow that would perform basic repairs on the drones internally. I could require nanite paste so it would cost a little but there is no reason that drone oriented ships should suffer as large as they do when there drones start to take damage.
