I really don’t understand why so many people including CCP is missing the ball on WIS. Forget about WIS the focus should be on expanding content and make space experience more exciting!

WIS is a problem for most people due to the fact that it doesn’t really contribute to anything and it doesn’t, no wonder it reached a dead end street. NOW WITH WIS OUT OF THE WAY lets have a look at something that will contribute a huge amount to character development and in dept play. FFS at some point in time you just get tired of mumble, team speak ...fleet blobs ,pvp and the whole social gathering of passionate pilots and you want to get into your 4x4 space ship and fly for the hills.

EVE SHOULD BE ABOUT SPACE MACHINES not just ships ! I beleive if CCP can include a personal crusade where you could lose yourself in corridors of wrecked stations , unimaginable hostile environments where you need a space MECH to explore decompressed NPC stations to save the damsel in distress we might just be back on track !

A very rough sketch of where CCP could take their so called WIS. A complete new class of space vessel ...Ladies and Gentleman I present to you the EVE SPACE MECH:

- 4 Diffrent Racial Space MECH Divisions ....same as ships
- You fit mods the same way as ships
- Different classes MEGS for different situations.

The idea would be to accept a mission ,fly to dead space and instead of collecting mission items in containers you dock at the station you shot into structure. The whole idea would be to explore the station to look for mission items and other items of value that spawns inconsistent.

Back to the damsel .....so you shot all the baddies in their machariels , got the defences down of the small staion and broke the structure....this means it lost its pressure. The only way to explore the staion is with a MECH. You dock your ship ....WIS begins ...a small minigame where you walk to the MECH Bay and fit your MECH in ship. You fit your MECH and go through that GOD FORSAKEN DOOR !

Some stations you can dock with one ships some stations more ships ....I mean just let your imagination go ....sleeper sites can you imagine walking in an alien station somewhere in a wormhole with all the bad sh...that can happen to you. ....sounds ...alien monsters alien mechs ..the list goes on.
Take it to a next level let players design their own interior stations with a construction tool set or whatever.

Now if i can do my work type a e-mail and come up with this shi....imagine what CCP can do ! Long live EVE long live CCP !

Want to add anything to this "lets imagine scenario" or what would be your idea of constructive WIS ?

EVE SHOULD BE ABOUT SPACE MONKEYS... ccp could make a magic space banana you use to lure out the ever-elusive space monkey.

Eve capsuleers are basically cyborgs. So who needs mechs? Pop in a cyber ninja implant and go grey wolf on some blood raiders.

iirc this was brought up at a csm meeting, they had some interesting ideas on how it would work. Mind you, it all smacks a bit of 'jesus feature'. The playerbase won't consider it until FiS is above reproach.

Hopefully they'll do it after they've fixed POS, so we can run around in POS with sirens and red lights going off when we get POS bashed

He he he whooop whooop run Frostie run ! ...man i tell u were missing out big time. I don’t know why CCP get a third party game developer for the WIS section. Eve is such a cool game ...as it is , but I tell u with a bit more emersion especially if you want to take a break from your regular crew that would just kick ass.

I can definitely see myself and 2 or 3 buddies take on some alien sleepers to collect some random spawn artefact for a collector or to kill some drug lords and sell some very exotic drugs on the black market. So the whole idea is player vs NPC ...or a few players vs NPCS...as far as WIS goes..that means a lot less problems to solve ... as far as Eve system resources goes.

People tend to want the complete Eve ...sandbox it’s ok if you’re dealing with a limited amount of meshes but nearly impossible of your talking Eve character interaction level....I just don’t think were there technology wise yet.

I mean “EVE MEGS” is just an idea for WIS it could be anything. I like the idea of strapping a monster AUTO on my MEG’s shoulder and walk down a very dark ally in a decompressed station with lights flashing , dead bodies all over the place and overwhelming breaking structure noise to complete the WTF do we have here sensation ....The MEG idea is also nice in a way to know you have something onboard of your ship to dock on dark and empty stations and explore Eve on a different level...To have 50 new skins of MECHS added to current resources is nothing compared to having individual faces and expressions and movements of thousands and thousands of individual characters ..in Eve.

Different mods to open doors with ....on board fire extinguishers to get through burning rooms ....huge chainsaw to get through debris....rocket launchers , Neutron Blasters , Grenade launchers to annihilate enemy mercs or creatures.. thats the kind of Eve I would like to see in the future .

Nah babes not in my version of the game, you have drop suits for planets... besides that’s for the Dust players. If you want to explore deep space where you have station debris falling on you , nasty alien creatures or drones crawling in deep dark corridors your clone body just won’t be able to explore you need to get some serious armour ... with some serious gear.

It amuses me that people think Walking in Stations isn't going to be iterated upon.

Check out Strike Suit Zero which is a space mech game. As you can see from the video (from 6:00mins) that kind of mech combat style wouldn't really work in Eve's space combat engine - we don't have that kind of fast controls. We'd need also a completely new ship class that is smaller than frigate so that these space mechs could fit into narrow corridors inside (sleeper) space stations - basically an exoskeleton that is wrapped around the pod and even that might be too big for station environments. Mech gameplay fits into Dust a lot better.

I think I understand the Dust-derived marketing decision to integrate WIS. That Eve and Dust would be a unified experience within a cross-platform FPS and RTS enironment. But the mistake I think they're making is that they have a vision of an awesome Eve-based universe that most people won't fully experience. I know I'm not going to go out and buy an expensive PS3 that's for sure. The FPS game model doesn't interest me. I like the ship-centric Eve experience.

I'd like to see real development of other types of ships and equipment. Space and planetary structure builders, stations that high-sec miners can own, stuff like that. If I want to get out and walk around...poorly I might add, I'll buy Dust and a PS3...which I certainly will not.

Also, I'd love it if we could buy stuff to customize the looks our ships rather than buy a set of stupid boots or something.

CCP, you have to rethink this unified EVE world. The player demographics don't support your vision. Concentrate on development for two distinct markets.
