One FW level 4 mission is worth the same LP as 1 normal level 5 mission. FW missions take 5-10 minutes to complete depending on how many jumps you have to make. FW missions can be done in a 40 mil ISK stealth bomber easily. I think you are doing low sec missions wrong to be honest.

Dude 90m sp and you only started in 06? You must have had +5 implants since the first day. That's crazy. Yeah FW is ******* up LP like crazy. I heard it was getting a nerf this expansion, but I don't see the difference. L5's should really be more profitable than they are. The new AI is crazy too. The days of chatting while missioning are gone for sure. Yeah I know I should be flying something with more dps and a better tank. I may go dual mach. Esp. now that logi is insta aggro'd.

Thanks for the advice.

With FW you really can afford PVP without much hassle or any need to buy ISK for cash. You just need to apply the following rules:

  1. Fly cheap, (T1/Faction/T2) Frigates, T1 Destroyers and T1/Faction Crusiers are your best friends.
  2. The more expensive your ship is the more you have to go for Nano+Snipy. Brawling is simply too risky if you are flying expensive ships.
  3. Between PVP: run some plexes to gain LP points and to generate ISK. Don't forget to loot enemy wrecks!
  4. If you are new to PVP, go with fleets, Solo-PVP is only for experts who know what to expect from various ships and who smell the bait / blob.
  5. Learn to not engage everything on sight... choose your targets wisely.

join FW.

the choosing targets wisely is great advice. For example, if you are minmatar, only engage if you have 6:1 numbers. for fights requiring testicular fortitude you should consider amarr.

I've never pvp'd as I always saw it as unsustainable. If I pvp, I will eventually run out of isk and have to do something to build it back up. I know I'll get flamed with replies about how everyone catches officer fit tengus twice a day and such, but come on. We both now that is bs. Ur on top of the world to break even in a week.

I didn't post this to flame on pvp either. I want to pvp, or at least have it as an alternative to what I normally do which is lvl 5 missions. Occasionally probes pop up in my dscan and I just want to squeeze that person till their eyes pop out. I've never been scanned down. I will never be scanned down, so I'd love to be able to "flip the script" and go hunt them while they are hunting me. Better than just logging off or chatting the night away waiting for them to get bored.

I'm sorry. My question is, how do you guys afford to get so into pvp? I have to pay a plex once a month for my alt. Honestly I'd probably be ahead of the game if I pvp'd since I've lost 2 tengus and 2 basi in as many months.

Any tips?

Good questions. ISK and the loss of it, is a substantial part of the game. It is one of the big things that seperate this game from other mmos.

What I found was that by doing pvp I learned new ways to make isk. For example - its the pvp fits that get blown up all the time. So if I would buy extra mods for my pvp ships in jita and sell the extra at a low sec hub for 2 or 3xs the price. But if I never did pvp I wouldn't know what sorts of ammo or mods will sell well.

When ccp says they are buffing certain ships or mods you will have a better sense of which ones will really be useful and which ones won't. So you can buy up what is useful and resell it at a profit after the changes come. You can also sell of the ships/mods that will become less useful before the nerf.

As far as being sustainable it can be. You can do risk adverse pvp like gate camping in a group. You won't make much isk but you will almost never lose isk. For new players all sorts of pvp is new and exciting. Some players still do gatecamping after playing for years. For me that got, but you should make isk at doing that.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Excellent. Great ideas. I have been giving this some thought too. The idea of selling items in low at a high mark up. I know I'd be willing to buy things at way over market price just to keep from having to go into highsec or near dodi or Jita. I'm beginning to see how it can be done.
