CCP please make round target icons OPTIONAL !

IIRC one of your devblogs promised that new round target icons would be optional, with ability to switch back to square ones somewhere in options menu.

This is indeed needed, because
1) Lots of players I know got used / just like square ones more
2) New HP bars are simply awful. It's semi ok when indicating shield level, but both armor and structure bars are way too thin Cry

Approximetly same comes with new agro/dps HUGE RED SPACE CIRCLE indicators.
Literally a nightmare in a close range pvp fight.

So I've heard there's an option called "Overview Settings". A mythical creature once told me it exists but I don't know if it's really true.

So I've just been on a small roam for the first time since retribution came out, and I have to say that the new HP bars on enemy ships are extremely unpleasant to work with.

* Their area depletes at different rates depending on shields, armour or hull.

* There's no animation between them like there is on the person's own ship. Just red blocks jumping back and forth.

* The seperator lines are a nucance, I'm not entirely sure what they're meant to represent. Maybe one every 25% would work but to me they're there for the sake of being there.

Not a good change, IMO.

Supported. I prefer the smaller, clearer square boxes.

The previous iteration of the circular targeting icon was much better than the current one. At least it was very easy to tell damage levels

-1 I gotta wonder about all the things that need help or that people want and in that light I don't think this is that big a deal. Though I'm not a fan of changing things for the sake of change, I actually kind of like the round ones.

Last two posters seem to have missed the point.

OP said OPTIONAL.

If it is iterated then put the icons how YOU like them.

I'm pretty sure that the Devs said in discussion on this, that the code involved in making it an optional change would be a nightmare, since they would then have to maintain two side by side systems with any further changes. As well as old legacy code associated with the first square interface.

They should have thought about it BEFORE turning nice target icons into **** tbh

.... Write non-legacy code for square boxes? I cant believe that replicating the old UI in new code is that killer of an idea that they run screaming from it. nor does it seem like the graphical changes from circle to square would be that hard to maintain. we are getting the same information, the static target box code is that convoluted?
sounds like the programmers are the problem

Nonfakeedit edit-> i remember the devs saying that about the Inventory system, and yet they have done most of what was needed to replicate the old inventory system. had they started down that path sooner much moaning would have been avoided. I dont know if they have two different inventory systems now, but the customization is there for different game play styles and i think we can all agree that we are better off then say 9 months ago.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

I liked the old bars better they were much thicker and easier to read, the new icons look cooler but they take slightly more time for me to decode what they say.
