Is Dev feedback on whether or not we'll ever have a way to have 1v1s again without the rest of EVE being able to jump in.

And a pink Dominix.

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

Doing nearly anything in EVE "without the rest of EVE being able to jump in" is impossible, by design.

Private conversations. Trades. Private contracts. Invite-only fleets. CSPA. Channel moderation powers. All consentual limitations on player interaction - why not a 1v1 system? I'm all for allowing reps and outside influence (e.g. boosts) on the fight, just so long as you don't go suspect and have sixteen megathrons bearing down on your incursus' ass.

If both parties want a "fair" 1v1 fight, there's nothing stopping you from going to a safespot in a semi-busy system and going suspect on each other.

If the other guy wants to blap your shiny Machariel with help from his friends, they should be allowed to - just as they can publish your private convo, scam you in a trade, spy on your fleet or kick you from their channel.

And why should they be forced to when we had a system that worked beforehand?

Why should I be forced to manufacture containers when before they were endlessly magicked into the game by NPCs?

Because it promotes player interaction, not arbitrary boundaries and hand-holding.
