Guardian and projected ECCM

Hey, new guardian pilot with a quick question about fits. This is more out of curiosity than anything else as well.

I notice that most/all guardian fits I ever see for fleet use generally always come with an onboard ECCM. Makes sense since being jammed effectively locks down the logistics cap chain and prevents it from doing its vital work. Anyway, I also know that guardians almost always come in pairs or similar setups since cap is such an issue and they generally fail operating by themselves.

So I wonder why I don't see them use projected ECCMs as often. It seems simple to me. Projected ECCMs are about 24% more effective than personal ones as well as offer the ability to stack ECCM hard on a jammed friendly. It seems like a far more versatile option particularly in large fleet setups.

I am aware that range could be a turnoff for the projected, with an optimal range of 24km and a falloff of 48km. Although to my understanding that means that the projected ECCM would be as effective as a personal on board one up to some 36km away... As a new guardian pilot I'm not sure if that is just simply too short or if logistics ships generally keep within that range anyway. I'll admit my ignorance to this one.

Additionally I know that the projected ECCM takes a bit more power by about 1 cap/second than the personal one... Although I thought this insignificant compared to the other cap hogs on the ship and the amount of cap incoming via logistics chain.

Anyway. just a few thoughts. I will admit that while on paper it seems like an good idea, no practical experience in the least leaves me in the dark on this one. I would appreciate any thoughts on it (and if I am wrong, why).

Logi is a demanding profession on the pilot - it requires your full concentration just to do your job. Projected ECCM is definitely a way to go if you can afford the time and attention demands of laying it on the right ship.

My Augoror fit has an ECCM and a Projected ECCM, which you lay on your cap buddy. With my EWAR compenation skills as they are, and a single inbound Projected ECCM, my Augoror's sensor strength is 62.

Which is, frankly, hilarious.

Currently I am cutting my teeth with it in more benign pve missions. For any PVP operations I would intend on using the far cheaper and infinitely replaceable Augoror. Although I guess a second question is how much of cruiser logistics skill/knowledge will translate to carrier?

This is wrong on so many levels...
