Once the 21st has come and gone, when do you think we'll get the chance to once more enjoy the kind of news stories we will during said day? I think it's a good thing about 90% of the world's population is dumb, because if not, coming next year there wouldn't be any more popcorn.

If I remember right, the Mayan calendar actually ends on the 23rd. That's according to this anthropology/archaology book written way before the Mayan end-of-the-world craze. Don't know, but I suspect the 21st date was the result of internet word of mouth thing garbling. The 21st is the winter solstice, which is a big day for astrologers. And for Wiccans and neo-druids celebrating Yule. So the 21st works out more neatly as an end-of-the-age day for the New Age community.

Hmm... From what I can find, it will be at the end of Happy Hour, wherever you happen to be. Kind of a rolling end-of-cheap-drinks and end-of- the-world, one time zone at a time. But some other sources say it will be later in the evening, at Last Call for Alcohol. It's hard to get an accurate answer about any of this. Blink
