With PvE becoming more... "exciting"... due to the rollout of advanced AI for mission and belt rats, being able to see and analyze the capabilities of our computer-operated foes becomes more important. Since there's no in-game mechanic to gather that data through scanners or experience (like the original Diablo: "oh, you killed 10 Republic Tribal Ymirs, now you know its HP values!"), a datadump is probably the easiest method for everyone involved.

Pretty please with sugar on top? Big smile

EDIT: Or, you know what might be even more boss? An NPC API: You pass the NPC Type ID (which, I think, though I can't confirm at the moment, is in the existing data export), and get back the effects and attributes in XML format. Stick a 23 hour cache timer, with a return of "DIAF" if you call it before the timer is up (since that data is, practically, NEVER going to change, so people should just cache it locally), and serve up data.

This data is available on the wiki and can be hard coded as I'm sure others have done so.

Its time to stand up against the bad empire based CEO telling falsehoods about what new characters can accomplish and pushing them towards an in game experience of drudgery and loneliness keeping them in the shadow of ignorance for at nest their own profit at worse apathy towards all the experiences that Eve has to offer.

This information can be extracted from game client with reverence tool. I do so in Neocom for iOS
