Actually, the new camera mode was a stealth decloaking buff for interceptors....but who cares about things like that....

Ooooo .. I had not considered that but you are 100% correct

:)

Though, you used to be able to maintain direction to target by mashing ctrl-alt-space immediately after they cloaked and you started to decelerate, provided you had already been moving towards target but yes, camer change makes that a bit easier as well.

With the new tracking camera mechanics in Retribution, wielding your d-scanner just became a whole lot easier.

Stealth buff, or just plain awesomesauce? You be the judge.

Enjoy!

During Buckingham testing i actually had a "d - scan" key binding which automatically does what you describe so well :) , i.e. centering the tracking point directly behind your ship. It didn't make it into the initial release, but it's on my backlog to put a "use tracking camera" option to the "d scanner control" So this mode is not totally unplanned ;)

Now THAT is awesomesauce!

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

At the end of the game both the pawn and the Queen go in the same box.

After coming out of tracking mode, lets say reset camera. Is anyone else getting some serious screen shake before the camera settles back down. Its almost enough to give me a seizure.

edit: i just realized it seems to be doing a 360 degree pan before going to normal view

First... great vid. Some handy info to have there, especially for a fledgling d-scanner as myself.

If a dev is still watching this... one thing I would like to see with the Tracking Camera is to be able to control when your camera looks at something. As the author of the vid stated, he had to double click the item in the overview... but for myself, all I need do is single click it. Personally I would prefer to have to double click, giving me the option to look or not look if I highlight something for the purposes of the Selected Item window.

Just a thought... provided I made sense there. OopsP

How about "hold some key down + click target from overview" to center (but not lock) camera there.

I get the camera seizure occasionally.. I find disengaging camera or just moving my camera around manually usually fixes it but I haven't figured out what causes it

Also, my camera still doesn't just slew between items as i select them, even though it does for everyone else in my alliance :(

No and no...

Only reason for having local in 0.0 was due to dscan not being effective enough... This us no longer the case and such 0.0 local should be delayed like wh space is...

Oh and post with your main you null bear

Yes, I agree that it's important to remove local from null! It's already over 75% empty....perhaps this will push out the other 25%....Roll

I am not, nor will I ever be...Nicky Yo.... The question you should ask is.....When will they release the NICKY!

Yes, allow us to scan the contents of stations please (and give us clear indication of the existence (and proximity) of cloaked ships

Then local is of no use to me

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Are you nuts?

They are CLOAKED lol.. omg

if the nullbears get their day and local gets removed, it will be a bloodbath in 0.0 and they will regret asking for it.
