So, why do you play Eve online?
I play because i find it fun. (obviously ) But also because it gives me free time, because to get good i don't have to spend 10 hours a day staring at my screen.

I play EVE because it is the most co-operative oriented game I could think of. Though I know a lot of people end up just using alts. I also asssssumed because of the nature of the game the general player base would be -slightly- more mature. I was only half right. EVERYTHING in this game is boring to me unless you are interacting with someone, somehow, to do it! Plus there are some pretty things in there like the Ferox and Chimera.

Really the idea of EVE, the economic side, the social manipulation side, all the really interesting things are on such a large scale you rarely experience it directly! At least not when you start.

The only thing that I wish was easier is making friendships! I mean, it is easy to get into a Corporation and work together, but that doesn't necessarily mean you are friends. People are not very chatty when they have the chance to explode you instead! Shocked

A friend of mine was bugging me for years to start playing WoW...and I was about to, I had the trial client installed and everything, then randomly looked over the GamePlanet Forums at other games there, and EVE Online had it's own sub forum.

Clicked, wondering what this EVE Online game was, read a few posts and thought, "Hmm, this sounds interesting..." and got the client.

Tried it for 20 minutes and I was hooked...then got the notification about downtime...I was like, "Downtime? WTF? NOOO I just got here!!!" haha.

Got myself a Debit card and subbed my account the next week. Been here since and been loving it!

LOL, my facebook status was prescient a while back:

Facebook Status wrote:

PLEASE put this as your status if you know someone (or are related to someone) who has been eaten by pandas. Pandas are nearly unstoppable and, when hungry, also breathe fire. 71% of people won't copy this into their status because they have already been eaten by pandas, 28% are hiding in their showers with fire extinguishers awaiting the coming pandocalypse, and the remaining 1% are awesome and will re-post!

But more seriously: it's the ships.

It's an intelligent and fun game where I can meet, play with, kill, do whatever I want, with other people.

It's the best Sandbox game out right now.

I used to play this game called Ragnarok Online, and was a guild leader for 4 years. Not only as a guild leader, I also ran an successful "alliance" as a alliance leader the last year and half of the RO gaming time.

Played many "hack and slash games". RO pretty much took all my ability to grind for levels, so my attention span is very, very shoot for ANY "hack and slash games". I was actually told of eve online on my third year of RO, but only considered it (biggest regret in my gaming life).

A year later, while still in RO, I got into Eve, fell in love. I absolutely love the passive skill training, the flexibility of the sandbox game. And best of all, no younger Eve-Generation ******* can talk back to me easily, especially no life gamers! Didn't I mention that I regret not playing Eve-O a year earlier? ... Yes I did! :O

I was seeking higher meta gaming experience than RO. Hopefully maybe to lead a great corp, but I found someone I admire and a person I look up to, which is SCOOTER1. So until he quits or gives me IE-EX, then I will start my new Eve gaming experience and make my history book into Eve's chapter.

Ever since I got into Eve, I vowed to never quit Eve until CCP bankrupts and closes Eve or "Eve-Online 2". 4 and half years in and still playing.

Couldn't really care less what CCP do great or what they ****** up the game, because as a gamer for MMO, I can tell you, and anyone, and even to god, that there is no company that compares to CCP. And no MMO will compare the complexity and its sandbox design for the next 2-3 years and I hope people open their ******* eyes of gaming reality. I spit on quitters when they quit and just to join another crappy new MMO. No matter how innovative, how "amazing", how "different". But unless they're seeking new gaming experience, then I take it back.

Hell, I'll even run for CSM to support the best of my ability for Eve-O, but Darius III is representing my corp and CEO, so he can have it until he resigns and I love that scamming ****** and I know he's doing the best interest for Eve-Online and to the commnity as much as I do, despite I disapprove his scamming for votes! I encourage people of Eve-O to vote for him and make him President of CSM.

Oh, besides passive skill training, I love ******* love spaceships and Sci-Fi and Eve-O meets most of the citeria. I'm tired of these "hack and slash" lame games and I especially hate elves.

I can't stand mmos that require you to mash muttons, WoW, rift, etc. I love eve because it is slower and i can actually enjoy it. FFXI was another MMO i played that i loved because it was slower.

I have more space likes than you.
