The Safety Button - is it being fixed?

Just curious if CCP have said anything about fixing the safety button, its a nice idea but i dont need it to go back to green every time i log on, just seems silly

yes, they said they just didn't have time before the xpansion hit and it will be fixed soon (TM)

Yo Soundwave! A modest proposal: make it impossible to submit petitions while the safety button is not green. This will tend to cut down on the silly petitions.

Out of interest why introduce it before it's able to be made persistent?

Is it because of the way it ties into Crimewatch in terms of programming?

The only reason I ask is because if it was delayed then released as persistent I wouldn't have to read so many people moaning about it :(
