why didn't we see the similar mass subscription loss and general mayhem in the past?

Mostly because in those days CCP had shown dedication to EVE-online and stayed true (mostly) to their vision. Players renewed their subscription with a feeling of making an investment in a living and breathing universe run by a developer they could trust to do it right.

But general neglect, abandoned and dropped features, shrinking expansions, schedules stretching into infinity, and treating their customers like trash finally added up. In the last couple of years it has become increasingly obvious that in CCP's plans EVE was nothing but a test-bed for WoD and an appendage for DUST; and a cash cow for both. The release of Incarna expansion, which featured one badly optimized room and a cash store, was the last straw, the spark that started the flame. The two leaks added confirmation to the general consensus and sealed CCP's fate.

Nail on the head.

I believe our glorious EvE CEO ..also believes the CSM caused it..and Zymurgist and Fallout didn't do enough to put out the fires..and were replaced.

CSM is next to go..just wait and see... and it's a damn shame. IMO They were the most effective team at getting things done since the program started....

It must be hard for a C.E.O to listen to someone tell him how he's fuckin up....and not have the " I'm your boss" factor.

no, stupid people in thread, establishments will come out, just not this year or next ( most likely)
as the masses said, we want the fixes and FIS elements, then slowly, add WIS stuff...

also
CQ is laggy as hell with just one person on low detail
imagine it with 2 people.... or 30

Eurogamer: What's going to happen with Eve's micro-transaction store now?

Hilmar Pétursson: It's definitely not a priority for CCP right now. We're really focused on making kick-ass Eve expansions in the more traditional way that we've done so many times in the past. What becomes of the store and Incarna is something that's not a big priority right now, but there may come a time when it makes sense to revisit that.

Holy **** he may have actually learned his lesson O.o

Hope they don't scrap the idea of WiS. And we better get Combat-in-Station (CiS); I want my FireFly MMO :P

Well the basis for a Firefly MMO is there. Where the 'verse' has been fleshed out more than in the series.

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

YES. I hope they shitcan Establishments completely.
If there is a war dec, I want life in the stations to be as boring as possible. I don't want players blockaded in station to be walking around playing minigames, admiring clothing and generally entertaining themselves.

All the rage forum posting and unsubbed accounts finally got the message across.

New ships, implants visible in PodKM's, etc....good stuff, and only getting better.

Those who are pissed off about the abandonment of Incarna/WiS, etc - NOW is your chance. Attention

Unsub - and then BIOMASS, to register your anger. I don't want to see whining on these forums. If you really are that unhappy, don't complaing - just do the decent thing.

Oh hell no, I think we should have PVP inside the station. No way you should be allowed to hide in stations.

PS:

New skill:Lockpicking
requires level 5 Hacking

Allows you to crack the lock on the CQ door.

-in addition to this-
Logging out still leaves your avatar in the CQ; in bed...asleep.

"waking up" with a dead moose head in your bed will be the least of your worries

I don't use CQ or leave my ship but I do leave a Life Sized Alara Dummy filled with extremely volatile Nitroglycerin lying in the bed of every station I visit.

Enjoy.

And if I disable CQ you demand PvP at the docking ramp?

Do you think Scotty will agree with this?

Second I found out Session timers were gone I grabbed him.

That was 5 days ago when I resubbed, two days ago I sold his skin on contracts. He died 5 hours ago.

Now you have a clear picture of how much I hate session timers.

No one tells me when to undock or switch ships.

Remember, CCP doesn't care what we say. They only care what you do.
If enough pro-Establishment people unsub and biomass their chars, maybe CCP will reverse course. Someday.

If enough waves Incarna fanbois commit virtual hara-kiri, then perhaps you'll influence CCP.

My guess, though, is you'll be hardly missed as far more unsubbed Eve players will join to check out the new Winter expansion - which, by all accounts, is looking like it will be a barnburner.

I look forward, with pleasure to your continued sobbing.

The major problem that most long-term players have with the resources dedicated to Incarna was that it took way too many resources away from FiS. (Dig back through the news for the "18 month" scandal when CCP basically said "no new content for the next 18 months".)

We basically had a year and a half of no bug fixes at all - which is like the death by 1000 paper cuts.

There needed to be a more balanced approach where the FiS stuff kept moving forward rather then pretty much all FiS development and bug fixes stopping.

That's why CCP needs a balancing tool with a delivery time to TQ of 24 hours for balances to stuff like powergrid etc.
And this tool should be able to be used by 1 person and not as currently involve 30+ staff for a week to 'balance' the game every 6 months with a blunt nerf/buff-bat.

It could be worse. We could all be WoW players. They are getting fat panda bear monks for their next expansion.

Dude, the Scotty clones were hit hardest by the recent patch...you'll find them now working at the local Quafe Bar down in "Brown Sector" (props to those who get the reference).
