Instead of a few speaking for the masses(a few that are totally biased toward one type of play like the current CSM is). get rid of them and just put forth gaming ideas for additions and expansion before the players to vote on. Make it a part of the game where when a player signs in they are confronted with topic of discussion and then the cast a yes or no vote.

Problem solved. No more will a select few who speak for a minority have so much power that they can neglect everyone but themselves and the few they play with. This way every player has a voice.

I understand what you're asking for here and it simply won't work. I could go into all of the reasons why not but it's a waste of time. Roll

i agree with the OP.

the CSM is a meta gaming instrument and wholly serves that end and no other.
the CSM serves only negative purposes for CCP and the Eve playerbase as a whole.

the idea of hte CSM is great.

this is eve. the playerbase are the scum of the interwebs. that FACT is an inescapable truth on the level of death and taxes.

The thing is, I can understand they won't run for CSM.

But what is that voice I keep hearing about ? Having a voice is called voting, in the election system.

There was plenty of candidates. The only problem is to get empire peoples to vote. Didn't you hear about the 85% of non-voting peoples ? If we manage to get votes and peoples in the CSM, it's not because we're all whining loudly, it's because we're actually voting. Simple as that.

If empire peoples voted, there would have been more peoples from highsec in the CSM.

If they don't vote, that pretty much means they have no voice or nothing to tell CCP about.

I think by and large the CSM has accomplished much more than Mitani's douchebaggery metagaming ashattery has ruined. He's a tool, sadly for the wrong team.

Seriously next election give us the option to get rid of the CSM and if over 50% vote for that then get rid of it.

All the threads about the CSM could be made moot with this suggestion, seems reasonable to me.

To actually be on topic, there have been hisec play style advocates in earlier CSMs that have even been elected (gasp) in the past! Make sure to vote next time!

And GSF/allies will vote nope, and the CSM will stay as it is, and angry empire pubbies will yell about how the CSM is biased and how Goons are ruining the whole thing.

Actually organizing and working toward a common goal is overpowered in this game. Nerf !

you are completely right, I am not whining about that the casul players should get a voice, I am just concerned about EVE and CCP and that they might lose subs because they ignore the needs and wants of a silent partion of eve players

Seriously, don't take me serious, I MEAN IT...seriously

Once again, this is a service, not a democracy. CSM isn't a government, and there was no option for "no CSM at all".

You are a moron, as that is EXACTLY what the CSM was designed as by ccp, a body of people elected in a popular vote by the players of the game to bring their concerns to CCP and act as a go between for the community.

And on every election in the world there will never be a "nobody" option.

I think you may need some type of counseling, you seem to be fairly out of touch with reality and in denial about things plainly stated by the company that makes the game you play.

Woah there girl, let's pull back on your reigns here a bit. Maybe you consider yourself the scum of the interweb but don't group all the rest of us with you.

As for the CSM:

There are all kinds of petitions in the Assembly Hall about how to set up the CSM to equally represent the Eve playerbase.

One proposal I think that shows good potential and should be expanded on is this one.
