Option to disable certain sounds

Ok, first of all love the patch i truly think it is brilliant BUT the amount of new sounds is really annoying could you please give the option to disable the timer sounds and the ship explosions, literally in a wormhole or running missions it gets really old and annoying very quickly

anybody else agree?

yes it has ..one :) if u live in wh ,its nice to hear wormhole activation :) New sounds are terrible ...

I agree, the " weee" sounds gets pretty annoying, it´s like your ship is about to explode.

When not paying attention you look up "wtf! my ship!, owww nothing just the mining lasers starting a new cycle"

Too many " weeee' s" -sounds that cannot be turned off, it's like giving too much information and should get optional.

That sounds an awful lot like customization, which generally CCP seems to say they love, while simultaneously removing all manner of significant customization options.

right now I hate only 3 sounds:
- jump gate
- warp
- sound like big steel door ( I really dont know what it is)

Many testers said the same thing. Add a ton of new instance noises, better add new toggle options. NOPE.

Same goes for me
The big steel door (when you kill a ship) is totally out of place, it's not a BOOM, nothing remembering an explosion, it was a lot better before.
Same for jump gate and warp.
Please change them

Everything else is perfect, just those 3 sounds, totally out of place.

That "big steel door" sound also occurs when you jettison something from your cargo, I believe it's actually the sound of the wreck popping into existence rather than the ship exploding.

Problem is that it doesn't seem to get louder/quieter depending on the position of the camera relative to whatever just exploded, so if you're, say, running a mission with the camera zoomed out really far you hear a muffled and distant explosion followed by a very loud and jarring clang. Hopefully it gets changed to only apply to jetcans.

Rather more irritating is the game's new habit of chirping at me whenever I dock/undock/jump/pick my nose/look at it funny. I *know* I've got an npc aggro timer; it's 5 fecking minutes long and I'm PvE'ing, I'm going to have one all day, shut up!

F*CKN CCP, how did you not think about this damn jetcan sound, it goes off EVERY TIME SOMETHING DIES... and when people are running sites in a WH or missions in HS or better yet, engaged in large fleet battles, THE LAST THING THEY WANA HEAR IS A F**IN METAL DOOR BANG. That noise, needs to go... why would you even put something like that in a game like EvE???

The steel door is from when a target you had locked disappeared. I know because I just salvaged a mission and it was BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG. For the love of glob, please remove that sound, and the cargo can open, and the cargo can close/loot all.

I feel that someone thought this might be cool without ever trying to salvage a mission. (Reminds me of the exact case when the new inventory was put in and it was nearly impossible to salvage).

Try going into your options and putting your UI Sound Level bar all the way down. See if that helps and fixes things.

EvE makes too many sounds now, why does the idle ship has to make sound?? Who thought that 'awkward' silence was bad? It's space for crying out loud, space isn't supposed to have sound. Now EvE crackles, and hisses and bangs and ticks... my EvE had 3 sounds; Shield alarm, Armor alarm, and wormhole fire, PERIOD.

CCP please, make all these other sounds optional... especially the god damn steel door!!1

The timer sounds are a horrible idea, I love the new UI and sounds but I really want to know how much testing they had.
Did someone at CCP or a tester really sit there hearing "beeeep" every time they shot a new target and not get annoyed?

Please, yes give up a real sound control. I like sound in EVE I use it all the time, but the monotony of some of these sounds is just facedesk worthy.

Agreed fully...

Also all non important ambient sounds and in game music should be muted when game window is minimized. Without this behavior it is pretty much impossible to play with several clients while having any audio on.

I would love the following sounds to get removed or get tuned atleast. Living in a WH kinda forces me to have my sounds on and i rly enjoy some of them:

Opening a can - Being a salvager living in WH's is a pain now!
Looting from a can - same as above.
Salvaging a wreck - same as above.

Timer start sound - Happens too often when fighting etc.
Timer end sound - sounds like my ship is gonna self destruct?




Also, I assume this is a bug.. But getting your head blown off because someone jets a can over 200km away from you and what, 400km away from your camera is realy unpleasent..
