I meet Goonswarm Federation (CONDI), and lived to tell the tale.

Yesterday i was doing some exploration in low-sec, and it had been a mostly quite day and evening, right up until i had cleared the last site of the night and was ready to dock up and go to bed. Right as i was about to leave 10 or so pilots entered the system, d-scan showed a group of battlecruiser and below. I noticed a couple of covert ops frigates, which made me think it was best i left the system before they would scan down my safe spot.

In retrospective it was more then just a little foolish to just pick a gate and warp of, i had more then enough time to d-scan the gates to see which was safe to use and which was not. What happened was that i picked the gate which i believed was the least likely to be camped, and hit warp, unfortunately the campers had used the same logic when picking what gate to camp.

I found myself sitting at zero on the gate with six or so enemy ships around me at a similar distance of the gate, which left me with few choices. Flying a myrmidon trying to warp off was out of the question, and i liked the odds at fighting them even less. So i decided that i would wait for them to aggress, and jump through the gate. They on the other hand wanted to wait for their friends to get on the kill mail, so by the time they was willing to aggress their group had grown to around ten.

I sort of did a panic jump when they started shooting, which left quit a lot of them without aggression cooldown, and of cause they followed me trough the gate. On the other side I immediately started burning back towards the gate, and they immediately started firing at me. This time luck was on my side, my myrmidon was mwd fit and they were slow to get web and scram on me. I reached jump distance of the gate at around 20% armor, and by that time almost all the attackers had aggression cooldown.

I jumped to safety on the other side of the gate, and the frigates that initially attacked had left the gate, maybe to avoid the gate guns. I started to warp off and just seconds before entering warp the attackers started coming through the gate, but i knew i only had to do 2 jumps before i was back in hi-sec.

After the first jump i noticed they still was chasing me, and there was no chance they could catch me before i entered hi-sec. Flying around the systems all day i had the home field advantage, i knew i would be back in hi-sec after the next jump, but did they know?

After completing the last jump into hi-sec i waited on the gate, hoping some of the attackers giving chase would be unaware that they just entered hi-sec. And it worked, which resulted in a nice vagabond explosion provided by concord, and my face turning into trollface.jpg.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Nowadays it's rather quiet in our nullsec neighborhood, but in the days that it was heavily camped, I always loved going down there to pick up my PI, breaching through the local gatecamps with my BR.
It's always fun to be the single person who outfits an entire gang/fleet.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

I'd have told them that I had simultaneously pooped, peed, farted, and came in my pants, as well as burped and vomited in my mouth. I'd further explain that my drool and tears were not enough for them to overcome. Once the situation was fully understood, I'd barrel at full speed towards the closest target and bump it repeatedly.

Escaping from them is not such a surprise or luck though mate .They generally suck on small fleets , and for them small fleets is <20 and that's being generous on that number , even if they outnumber you big time .

Not odd though , the strength for them lies in blob fleet battles and the big bluelist not small scale pvp.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

You outsmarted a goon eh kudos Roll

Last day you can do this btw, with crimewatch he would not be gcc and would be able to get back to gate.

Good read.

Smart players and actions are everywhere and from random everyone (high sec pubbies) and as you saw/explained, random everyone from whatever high/null can do dumb stuff, and this is fun, this is why null pvp is so interesting and far from "the blob" generalizations.

Props to you.

Goons are pretty low on the IQ scale so outsmarting them is a really small feat.

Edit: Poking at Goons. No offense to the OP. Kudos to you man. Not many can think clear enough under pressure.

What does getting, 'backdoored' by Laz have to do with Goons being bad?

With crimewatch you are able to use jump gates, while fighting concord?. I am guessing that attacking someone in hi-sec, will still activate concord, even with crimewatch.

What I'll miss most with the new crime watch is the few rare occasions where a gcc gang will jump after you into high-sec :)
