An idea for a corporate 'group' system

Corporation roles are, beyond any doubt, a mess. What I am proposing is, as part of a greater revamp of roles, a system that would replace (or work in parallel to) the functionality of titles. Recognizing that most organizations in the game delegate management of different parts of the organization to individual members (such as logistics and recruitment/HR), this system implements that into corporation mechanics.

In short, groups effectively constitute smaller corporations within a corporation. The CEO or a director can create any number of groups and delegate any number of managers to each group. In creating the group, the CEO/director specifies which roles are automatically granted to members of that group, which may have different levels of responsibility. Here is an example of this tiered system of responsibility in a hypothetical logistics group:

Lowest tier:
Config Equipment
Starbase Fuel Technician
Hangar Query and Take for the corp's fuel hangar

A higher tier:
All roles assigned to the above tier
+ Config Starbase Equipment
+ Hangar Query and Take for the corp's POS hangar

Higher(er) tier:
All roles assigned to the above tiers
+ Station Manager
+ Access to a wallet division

Highest tier:
All roles assigned to above tiers
+ Container Take for POS and fuel hangars

The managers of a group have the ability to add, remove, promote or demote members and otherwise manage their group. They are automatically granted the roles assigned to the highest tier. Another thing that would be of benefit to this system is separate group wallet/hangar divisions, which would eliminate the limitations stemming from corporations having only seven wallet and hangar divisions.

The big question is, of course, "why?" The problem is that the current title functionality effectively only serves as a set of aliases for a set of roles. Titles can only be granted by CEOs and directors, and there is no ability to delegate "grantable" titles. Role management is a major PITA compounded by the limitations of the roles system and the vast differences in ideal privilege levels in the abilities granted by certain roles. It would make sense to implement a system like this as part of a greater revamp of roles in order to reduce the number of tasks that require the director or CEO role.

Id like much better auditing features on corp hangers both in stations and in pos's.
who took what, how much and at what time.

Face it, the whole Corp management system needs to be rewritten while what exists now needs to die in a horrible accident involving a hydrogen bomb and dildo's.

This is true; as I noted in the OP, something like this should only serve as a part of a greater overhaul of the corp management system.
