Hi all well been trying out the game for 4 days completed all the military mission i can they say level 3 missions cant do unless not on trial.

Also few pros and cons I have found so far. Compared to other games i played online. WoW Entropia universe etc.

Rookie help chat Nothing but people knocking each other, no one helps unless Mod is on.
Not much of a community in game what so ever.

Seems like a very repetitive game same thing over and over requiring no real skills.
As logn as you have the fire power and the tools you just keep going. Not very intriguing at all.

Game controls are very poor to say the least and the tutorias where terrible with explanation at first must reasearch a few online before you get the idea once you do good to go.

Graphics are very poor. And server has lag compared to many other multi server online games.

Over all experience well 4 days in and already to quit lol but will complete my 14 days will not bother to get a monthly account even at 15.00 would not be worth it in other games i spend 200 a week lol but well worth it. (dont have to spend that amoutn but i like the toys it brings)

So over all would not reccomend this game.

My 2 cents hope freedom of speech is allowed in this forums as long as it is properly done.

You do know that this game won "Game Community of the Decade" award? (From a rather large gaming site i can't remember right now)

Don't use rookie chat cause it really is mostly you newbs or some older vets that made new alts that are trollin, Use the official help chat as the nice players hang out more in there

You will also find that about 90% of newbs won't talk in local chat so looking for people there tends to not get you very far.

Lag might be the same but that is the point, we have just as much lag and we're only on a single server =D

problem is your judging a massive in depth game based on your 4 days of doing the same activity over and over, missions in eve are like daily quests in wow if that helps you understand it , they are repeatable somewhat entertaining content that are there for collecting income and or items and get boring after doing them for a few nights in a row as you have found out.

eve is a highly social game and joining a corporation will really help you put things into perspective and get a feel for what the game really is.

if pvp is your thing then i have yet to find a game that actually gets me as exited about pvp as eve can, that fact that decisions in combat have lasting consequences makes it a lot more of a rush when you know your ship is at stake, rather then just fighting over who has to walk back from the graveyard next. on top of that a few clever newbies can take down a vet player if they do it right, where in games like wow a level 20 is lucky to even land a single hit on a level 40 much less a level 85

if industry and working the markets is your thing then know that eve has one of, if not THE best market system out there. the vast majority of items are mined, manufactured, distributed and sold by other players the open market economy and the sheer number of items sold between players each day, over a million transactions a day on a game with about 20 -40k players online at a time, makes this games market a truly unique one that puts wows auction house to shame. CCP keeps an economist on staff to monitor the market and there is even a quarterly economic newsletter released on the eve economy.

this game has a lot of unique things to offer that make it more then " a very repetitive game" and it takes more then 4 days of playing to see it all, i ha.ve been playing 4 years and there is still content i haven't touched

Yeah I know can see all in the 4 days as i said in first post plan to stick around for the 14 days at least.

Also note you liek to compare to WOW yeah not greatly fond of WOW either Prefer E.U

Such as alot better chat not jaggy and to point make one motion sick trying to watch it.
Auction system is a joke also for sure or market.

The yes you die and have to buy new ship and tools is the same as person dying and walking back grom revival terminals.
You just gotta get ship tools they gotta heal fix decay get ammo fix tools also it all the same and then long journey back.

The big difference is skill required in E.U Not just what ship combo you have.

But liek say wont judge it fully till my 14 days are done.

EVE isn't something that can be fairly judged in just 2 weeks, much less 4 days. The community is there and it's lively, although sometimes harsh. You won't see it until you join a player corp. Doing missions and making the odd isk is the smallest part of the game. If someone comes in, plays for a month and does nothing but missions, I guaruntee they won't resub after their first month. Get into EVE University (cliche to refer to them I know but they are a good deal) or another player corp that offers noob grooming and see the real game.

Also, rookie help is totally the blind leading the blind. Try joining the regular help channel. It's a troll magnet, but if you block them there's a regular community of helpful people there.

been a rookie myself and still on trial i am enjoying the game, i played wow for close to 6 years now that is repetative, go kill 10 boars blah blah blah.............
i have suffered no lag in this game as yet, perhaps your lag is down to your isp provider am with sky on 20mb line but only getting 11mb. The graphics i would say are nice if you turn everything up to max, i am playiing on an m17x r3 laptop with a radeon hd6990m card in it and very pleased with what i am seeing. Rookie chat has its moments i have found it to be maybe a ratio of 70/30 70 been the helpful players 30 been the spammers and scammers.
i will agree with the tutorials some of them were lacking in been clear on what i had to do especially the one where i had to do some gravation scanning. i will also agree with the price of the monthly subscription i think its too much, however saying that all expanssions are reportedly free. Personally i feel £9.99 would be a fair price for a monthly sub.
This type of game is either 1 you love or hate, some people struggle with having to make a decision like in eve however they love been led by the hand like in wow......................

14,95 euros + 5 euros for activation + VAT wich is what? 3 to 5 euros?
This makes it a not very cheap game and with a expensive susbcription.
I'm on my second day of trial, I'm loving it so far but I'm still in the second career tutorial agent.
I know I'm going hit a big wall of complexity and probably a lot of repeat mission here and repeat mission there. PvP aint probably easily available for a rookie casual like me, skill and isk wise. So i understand this is a game of patience and research, but still.
Seems awsome so far, but also looks a expensive game imo.
All people talk about having multiple accounts, wich sounds really lame to me.
Hopefully i can enjoy the game after i complete all my tutorials, be able to be casual and still have lots of fun and maybe have an oportunity to pvp in a chill corp right form the start. Maybe faction warfare... dunno... if I can get the isk as a casual and extremely rookie player.
Whatever... keeps looking an expensive game for me and that only is stoping me from buying it right now.

Sorry about the bad english but hey... when you start speaking portuguese, you are free to fire all your grammary ofenses eheh

Seek redvsblue. They will give you pvp of your own level with cheap ships. And know how to have fun doing it.

I totally agree...

Other MMo's equivalent of missions are not repetative at all. Kill 20 boars, loot 5 magic potions.... Oh... Wait... Roll

Jokes aside, what did you expect after 4 days doing missions and a few runs in lowsec ?

And no skill required to play the game? Come to balle and duel with me. I am going to use that very same ship you are flying and T1 modules. You won't even scratch me and you won't understand why untill you play the game for a few weeks. Do you want to go play hide and seek with me in lowsec? You won't find me and it will take me 10 seconds to find you.

Doing missions is easy, it's your own personal isk-cow. PvP is an other story.

Aston Bradley i would gladly take you up on your offer if your allowed to make a alt with same skill levels as my self and would gladly post the battle results here in the fourms :) Let me know willing to take your challenge. And of course no transfering equipment from one alt to another so that it is on fair grounds!! Would also invite other newbies to view this battle and other regular players to help make sure event is fair

proof that newbies can fight vets... if you so choose.

@Maria -- yeah 20 EUR for the first month (unless you use a GTC or PLEX to activate), then 15EUR per month thereafter. No different than WOW (from what I remember). If you want to pay ~120 all at once, you can get an annual sub. There are also three and six month sub plans. 3,6, and 12 month subscription costs are all lower than that of the 1 month...

Also keep in mind that it is possible (not necessarily easy) to pay your way through the game via PLEX bought on the market with ISK (normally ~300-350 million ISK per month, bit higher right now).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

The transfering equipment interdiction made me lol though, as it is rather pointless. Why transfering T2 or factional modules on an alt that couldn't fit them anyway? If i train for 4 days, i can't fit anything better than what those 4 days of SP grant me. Seems to me that you don't really get the relation between skill requirement, cpu/powergrid limitations and the modules they are related to. P

And no i am not going to create an alt for you simply because i would have to pause my main's training queu for 4 days+ (Understand that although you can create an alt, you can't train 2 alts at the same time).

I can't create an trial account without changing local IP. So my only option is to create a new payed account to train that alt for 4 days without pausing my main's training. And that's not going to happen Lol

I wasn't serious about duelling with you as obviously i have more SP assigned to frigates than you do. Then again, if you are still here in 3 weeks you can fly that frigate as well as i do. I am not specialised in them, so i only have the basic skills at level 4 to fly bigger ships and use bigger modules. If you happen to be here in 3 weeks, the offer still stands.

But to be clear about my previous statement, Let's say you train for 6-7 months to be able to fly a cruiser to near perfection. Than, and only than... you decide that you are ready to go pvp in lowsec, because now you have that bad ass ship with the same bad ass T2 modules everyone is using.

Judging from your appreciation of the game, it's so easy that you shouldn't be having trouble going into lowsec and pvp there right? And that is where you are wrong. You would die miserably, and any vet here can confirm that to you.

Knowing how to survive lowsec takes time, and a lot of learning (I am a year older and i am still learning stuff myself).

You don't know how to engage a pilot flying a drake, you don't know that you shouldn't engage a cynabal alone, you don't know how to avoid gate camps, you don't know how to spot a bait ship, you don't know how to manage your capacitor well, you won't know when to run and you don't know how to out smart a scout.

And make no mistake, you will over-heat your modules, as we all didBlink

That being said.... As a new player, can you kick a vet's ass? Yes! you can! , SP's are not a barrier to it. But you will die a lot and learn tricks before doing so.

We can still do the hide seek game though. As long as i don't use a cloak or combat probs, SP have no influence there. It's pure player experience.

What ship are you flying?

[i]FiS should be the priority, but WiS should not be burried!

Using a rifter at this time :) But only been few days as you know. And yakes alot of time to skill.

Knew you would come up with excuse for the 1 on 1 rookie battle! Roll

And second ip easy to get by the way :) But wont get into that.

But anyway off skilling and working on stuff in real world.

Shocked Yes game has alot to learn and a long time to skills and know what to arm with and add to ship to protect vs attackers with different forms of weapons.

It just so happens I have a trial handy. Ill take your challenge. Ill be on at approximately 0145 eve. If that is early enough. If not can schedule for sometime around 1300ish630ish eve time.

um, yeah you can... don't even need a second install of EVE. the only limitation is that you can't dualbox a trial acct and a full acct at the same time...

I am not going to use a proxy :3

But i have an alt account, i though i have a char training there, i guess i could sacrifice a few days of training on her, but not on my main.

That being said a 1 vs 1 duel with rookie pilots is as challenging as playing poker with all cards on the table. I target you, you target me, i rotate you you rotate me, i activate my guns you activate yours. It's kinda like playing wow and duel with two level 3 characters. Fun, but pointless as far as skill is concerned.

Oh i am sure you'll come up with that "you're making excuses" punch line, but think what you will i know i am correct on that :).

When you can use something else than a gun and a shield (ECM, ECCM, other EWAR modules, neuts, ect...) than we can see how skillfull one is, just as it is the case in an mmo where you have about 20 levels skill to CC, drain mana, mute to use "tactics". Untill you get that, it sums up to i hit you, you hit me let's who see dies first.

But sure, we can duel with rookies and i ll drink a soda while our two ships dance together since we can't do anything else at this point What?

Last time i tried i had this very nice message from CCP :

"While we appreciate your enthusiasm to try EVE, we would also appreciate if you could limit yourself to using a single trial or subscription accounts only."

Now other than a proxyserver, i don't know how to counter that. But than again since i have a two main account, i never insisted on solving the problem. So maybe i am missing something here.

Just make the alt and duel him already.

Even if you are 100% right on that one Lol
