Hey guys, got a Raven Navy issue, just wondering what kind of rigs would be best for it. Going to use it for both PVP and PVE, trying to get some ideas on what I can RIGs wise.

Thanks for the help

Don't use your PvE ships for PvP.

PvE: fit Rigors
PvP: Fly something else.

PVP Navy Raven?

Not sure I can recommend it for that tbh.

For PVE though, go with a Flare Catalyst & a pair of T2 Warhead Rigors. With a cheap RF Target Painter, you'll wipe out cruisers and BCs. Fit your mission Raven NI with a sensible bit of bling, but not enough to draw the attention of gankers like me (about 1 bil or so and you should be fine) and stay out of obvious mission hubs. You'll then be able to buy more PVP Ghetto Ravens than you're ever likely to need.

I'm really curious about your PVP RNI plans? Seriously, where do you plan to do this at? I guess I could see it as a gank ship for High Sec or for wars /station games in High Sec. Otherwise, there are surely better choices available to you.

Best of luck.

Honestly I don't know too much about Navy Ravens. I've been out of the game for awhile and too begin with I never knew too much about PVP. I'm a huge noob in alot of ways, anyway thanks for the tips guys

like the guys above me said, don't pvp in a CNR. for that money, you can fit out a two dozen post-patch caracals and go to town on people with freshly buffed HAMs.

I should buy an Ishtar.

As mentioned a few times in this thread already, flying a CNR / RNI into PVP isn't really something you probably want to do until you are completely certain you know exactly what you're doing in most pvp situations. (At about which point you probably won't need to ask here, for fitting suggestions). You will very likely be served much better by the new T1 cruisers, or even a Battle cruiser - Ferox, Drake, Naga, or perhaps a frigate.

Still, if you're really curious for a taste of such an experience you do in theory have the option to find a friend & fit up a CNR/RNI on one of the testing servers. You probably want to do this with a friend or someone you moderately trust, who hopefully has a decent small to medium sized pvp history / background.

From there, have at it. Oh, and once you've lost a few? Try it with a regular Raven too. With the results from those fights, compare the costs vs. performance you experience and consider the consequences of the losses if they'd been on the live Tranquility server.

Finally, you're not alone in contemplating the idea. Particularly given the price of a navy faction battleship, in the wake of FW LP earnings and consequences had on the market. Price of a Tech 3 cruiser, performance, T2 fittings? If one -knew- what they were doing, it'd be -really- tempting. There is a minority of pilots who'll pvp in a Mach, - why not an RNI ?

Mach is better?

Speaking from PVP experience, a faction battleship is usually a gank magnet, and even regular battleships are rarely seen in lowsec without escorts, logi, and probably command boosts (unless they're in transit, in which case they're probably travel-fit, warp-core-stabbed up to the eyeballs). A Navy Raven without escorts that stumbles into a roaming gang of ... well, pretty much anything will be the focus of every missile, bullet, hybrid charge, drone, and laser that can be thrown its way.

Actually, let's make it simple: don't fly an unescorted Navy Raven in PVP. If you've got proper top cover and logi support, you could probably fit and rig a CNR as a hellacious torpedo boat with an impressive shield buffer, but it'd be a completely different fit from a PVE setup.
