After much deliberation I am going to buy a new headset. I figured a community such as ours would have some experience with such a matter and would be able to help me sort through all the marketing lies. I need something with noise cancelling. I live in a very hot climate and often have fans running. I would also like something with decent quality mic. I do have a budget of 150 USD. Please post your suggestions and experiences with products. Thank you in advance for you help finding a suitable product.

Hands down the best headset I ever used, and the lack of cords just makes it wonderful (I can go pee when you don't even know and still hear you).

Do these offer a charging station or similar option or do they take batteries?

if I had to guess, the USB Charger is used for charging. Just a hunch, though.

After more research it is indeed the charger port. These look like a great set. Omidirectional Noise cancellation is another greats selling point.

Yeah like you said, charges with a cable over usb, and yes you can have the charger connected while using it as well.

You get notified well in time before the battery runs out, think I've used it for over 30 min when it started to warn before it actually died.

I found them to be very comfortable as well which is one of the most important things for long use obviously. Easy to mute the microphone when needed by just flipping it up towards the headset, also has a button on the side to control volume.

-> bought this as a great bang for the buck
->very similar to the one suggested by chribba, main difference is this one is not a wireless one
->great sound (i mean really great), also great mic, by far the best headset i had so far

I am not old, just bitter.

I like the price point on this one but the noise cancellation is supposed to be better on the 2000. That is a big selling point for me as I am always told i have lots of back ground noise on comms. I am glad to see more Headsets though helps to zero on the perfect one to fit my needs.

I got Platronics 780 and they are absolutely AMAZING.

Even for being USB their 7.1 dolby sound is just........, well, it made me moist the first time i tested them with Moh:W and a bunch of other games. Eve sounds and Aura's voice are also just super clear <3. People also tell me that my mic is clear and crisp. I honestly couldn't have been more pleased with the purchase.

I have onboard realtek soundcard(not that it matters since its a usb headset) so nothing special but this headset is a beast.

There are buttons on the left earpiece, volume scrollwheel thing and a button to turn surround on/off. Mute mic button is also on the left ear :)

I just use $6 ross headphones and a $8 plantronics boom mic. When I was stupid/rich I used to get branded 'gaming headsets' but after running over my 5th £100+ set with the chair I got to see the light. Big smile I would never buy a wireless set, since mine are on my head 10+ hrs a day. But your mileage and chair fatalities may vary obv ..

I've had several headsets, now I got the Logitech G35 and I'll stick with it.

The only thing I hate about wireless devices is the fact that they are wireless. I hate it when my **** stops working in the middle of a fleet battle or when I am trying to talk to someone in TS or Vent. I have found the Razer products to be quality at a fair price. This is the headset I have. I guess if you have the option to charge it via a cord and use it at the same time then a wireless device is fine. I plan to replace my Naga with a new one that does that.

There are others that are more expensive and even better but that one was $80 and has been excellent.

Anything with the word gaming in the title is over priced and a waste of money, get yourself a good set of headphones and a desktop microphone, or one that can clip onto your monitor or top.

I have had several £100+ headsets, ranging from Razer to Logitech, yet nothing compares to my current Sneisenner or however the **** you spell it headset and a £20 desktop microphone, clarity and qaulity not made of cheap Chinese manufactured plastic that snaps when you drop it, or breaks when it inevitably gets caught around the wheels of death.

I gotta say, I was looking forward to some good suggestions here but its quite clear only the above poster demand the very best fidelity when it somes to audio quality. That is quite sad really.

If your buying anything other then sennheiser your buying the wrong product.

Personally I hate headsets with mics attached. I go for proper headfones and a seperate mic.

I have sennheiser 202s that are nice and worn now and they are great but im honestly happy with my platronics. You gonna tell OP to get a sound card and an amp too ?
