I want to work for EVE.

I realized something about myself this morning, work starts in 12 minutes and it takes me 30 to get there, and i'm just not going. I didn't go yesterday either, I made up a bull**** story about my dog ran off and I panicked i'd never find her, and I searched all day out in the 25 degree kansas city winter for her, which wasn't true, I don't care about that dog and she spent her day in that kennel, while I was in here playing EVE, but it all goes back to a much larger point, a larger realization I had about myself.

Sometimes you have to stop living the life you hate, and start living the life you want to live. I'm 26 and i've had my job for 9 years now, 9 miserable years I've gone out, spent 9-11 hours a day, making bogus money for my skillset and not really having any desire to live, especially when you throw in the kansas city chiefs (don't even mention the baseball team, we don't say their name in my house) and how little there is to do out here in flyover country, it just makes for a pitiful existence that I'm done leading. I don't care about the rent, i don't care about the bills, why the hell would I, they all exist in a place I hate, and in a life I'm done with, come evict me, I don't care, I hate this house anyway.

"So I know what I don't want, thats a start.", I thought, but thats not really a start, a start indicates something will be changed, for the better, at least relatively. and so where should I start, what DO i want?

EVE, honestly its the only thing I don't have to get blazed to endure, its the only place I don't mind talking to people, its the only place I don't get angry about getting screwed over.. cause hay I know its hard out there for a pimp. This is the only game where I'd use my real name and likeness LOL (thats right, Zack Korth is my slave name y'all, you could probably find my address with the info in this post.. whatever) Its the only thing I want to do, I don't know how or what exzactly, but I could spend 18 hours a day with this game and still want more, theres just nothing else I want to do. Words cannot describe my hatred for leaving the house, I'm constantly pissed off when I'm out and about, or at home and forcing myself to hang out with my girlfriend when even then, I'd rather just be playing EVE.

Its all I wanna do man, the hell with everything else. Work just started, officially, and obviously, I am not there. I do not feel this reflects poorly on my work ethic, as I've done it for 9 years with very little resistance. But if i can't live the life I want, I'd rather not live one at all.

Cool story.

Because CCP (or anyone) would hire someone who makes up stories to take days off and play vidya games.

Go and put effort in and learn Icelandic then, according to google its spoken only by about 300000 people.

i'd say "grass is greener on the other side of the fence" in your case.

If you do manage to get a job with CCP then you'd have to be responsible on the forums :P(imagine that heh) and you would have to pretend that you don't work for them when playing your account.

Go for it man. Everybody has the choice of just sitting there and existing, or taking a chance and trying something different. It's like The Hero's Journey that Joseph Campbell found in all of the mythology from around the world. The protagonist is in a humble background, unappreciated, headed nowhere. Then he faces something that causes him to make a decision: sit back and stay the same, or accept the challenge and head out into the big risky world. In the myths, the guy always takes the challenge. Then he faces some crises along the way, defeats them, and finally discovers that he was a king/dragonslayer/Jedi master all along.

That's The Hero's Journey. All of the old myths from all human cultures have it. So according to J. Campbell, achieving the The Hero's Journey is the universal aim of the human psyche.

Please, JUST STAHP! ...

If you really that lazy, please go fill online surveys. You do crap from home and can earn enough, if you dedicate enough hours to live with bare min needs and wont have to go to your "boring" job.

Just to pig the OP off completely.

I'm 54, kids have flown the nest, mortgage paid off, and in 37 weeks I get to retire! Finances all sorted, I don't have to work another day in my life if I don't want to.

It was shite at times, long hours, **** poor pay at times, but now the honey boat is coming on in!

From that post I gathered that he has a negative attitude, a high probability of absenteeism and poor work ethic, and no actual skill set, training, or experience for what he wants to apply for, to which he doesn't even actually know what the company is looking for.

What really bothers me is that CCP Falcon stilled pointed him to the job postings. Really man? Really?

When you find that the life you choose to live isn't great anymore, you'll also notice that a staggering amount of people don't actually care.
