Predefined Probe Patterns

Hello good people,

Would it be possible to have predefined probes patterns for core scanner probes? Not the combat ones, would be too easy to find someone, but only the core ones.

Basically I am scanning around 30 systems per day, with 7 probes per system, I have to place them around and it takes a lot of time. With this suggestion I would click on ''selection 1'' and they would get in the position I saved earlier. Would make scanning much less of a pain in the A.

Thanks,
Souv.

It takes me 10 seconds to set up my probe formation, Takes me longer to launch the probes then to set them up lol. Also being able to set up your formation quickly to out scan a competitor is one of the skills in exploration.

Then say... It takes like 10 seconds for the ship to spread them over evenly? Then ofc you manually scan afterwards

I would like to have the ability to save a probe formation because jumping to a system, launching probes, creating a formation scanning, then doing it over and over and over is just monotony.

Having to save a formation yourself will at least mean the player has to put some thought into how the formation should work.

This is infinitely better, and I don't see any obvious flaws with it.

Indeed, would not be OP, just would avoid the frustration of moving around 100-150 probes a day lol.

Little known facts about scanning:

Holding 'SHIFT' will move all probes as one unit in whatever direction you click.

Holding 'SHIFT' and changing the scan radius with the mouse will change all probes to match.

Holding 'ALT' will scale move all the probes around the center of your formation, just click and drag any arrow to use.

The last one is huge, it cuts down scanning times by 90% easy. Just go practice and you will see a remarkable drop in scanning time / system.

Enjoy!

No, no. I do know these shorcuts, I mean when you launch them, you still have to dispatch them a first time before they actually move all together.

You are using 7 Probes?

Okay, i have to admit, so far i only did high sec exploration. But i'd say i'm pretty fast with 4 probes. And it's pretty easy to adjust 4 probes. Basically you can start doing it while launching your probes.

I see how it gets annoying to do it over and over again. But as someone mentioned before, this would take out a lot of actual player-skill in the PvP environment which is exploration.
